Hey, I'm an international student from India going to a small LAC (~2,200 enrollment). Due to delays in my visa processing, I will be missing orientation and Frosh week and arriving just in time for classes. I'm pretty bummed out because I usually don't make friends quickly, and for this reason I was looking forward to frosh week since it would make everything much easier. I'm worried that by the time I get there, most people will already have formed their circles or whatever and it's gonna be pretty awkward for a while coz everyone else will know people there by then but i'll arrive not knowing anyone :|

I was just wondering if anyone else had dealt with something like this and if ya'll had any tips to get through the first couple of days.

Don't worry about it ... it is true that kids will have made initial connections and you will miss out on that ... it's also true those relationships are fluid for while as everyone figures out whom they really want as friends. As a freshman I was in a temporary triple and when I was moved out of it, after a month, I moved to new dorm ... at first it really sucked ... but it only took a couple weeks to settle in the new dorm and then it was like I had alsways been there. It will be a little awkward at first but it will be fine in time.
