Hey, I'm an international student from India going to a small LAC (~2,200 enrollment). Due to delays in my visa processing, I will be missing orientation and Frosh week and arriving just in time for classes. I'm pretty bummed out because I usually don't make friends quickly, and for this reason I was looking forward to frosh week since it would make everything much easier. I'm worried that by the time I get there, most people will already have formed their circles or whatever and it's gonna be pretty awkward for a while coz everyone else will know people there by then but i'll arrive not knowing anyone :|

I was just wondering if anyone else had dealt with something like this and if ya'll had any tips to get through the first couple of days.

Don’t worry about it … it is true that kids will have made initial connections and you will miss out on that … it’s also true those relationships are fluid for while as everyone figures out whom they really want as friends. As a freshman I was in a temporary triple and when I was moved out of it, after a month, I moved to new dorm … at first it really sucked … but it only took a couple weeks to settle in the new dorm and then it was like I had alsways been there. It will be a little awkward at first but it will be fine in time.
