Hello,

I am deciding between Missouri and Indiana University. I am a direct admit to the Missouri Business school but not to Indiana Business School.

What are some thoughts either way??

Thanks

Hello,

Considering transferring to Mizzou for Econ.
I think the reputations are pretty similar, but IU has the better business school overall.
If you’re instate I would definitely choose Mizzou though, it has a great reputation in Illinois, and an increasing presence in Chicago.

Thanks, I am in the Chicago area so both schools are out of State for me but Missouri is part of the Nidwest Exchange so it is cheaper.

Well I don’t think that the business majors at Mizzou are in the participating degrees that are available for the midwest exchange rate.
[Midwest student exchange | Undergraduate Admissions | University of Missouri](http://admissions.missouri.edu/costs-and-aid/costs/midwest-student-exchange/participating-programs.php)
I’m also an Illinois resident applying for the midwest student exchange.

I forgot to mention, even though the business majors aren’t in the midwest student exchange, a lot of students end up staying in Missouri for a year and apply for residency.

Wow, thanks for the link…I never saw this I was always looking on the Midwest page and saw Mizzou listed and assumed it was for the whole school.

Ok time to re think my plans. I am still waiting to hear back from Minnesota but I am already accepted to Iowa, Mizzou and Indiana.

Indiana no doubt

Minnesota is a great value out of state, I was going to apply (they have a top ranked Econ program) but I heard some things about them raising OOS tuition drastically. I think living in Minneapolis could get pricey as well.
So far I’m only applying to Illinois and Mizzou, still looking for a good OOS tuition option though.

I second the vote for Indiana. Getting into Kelley as an IU freshman is not difficult. You still take mostly the same classes and you can still easily graduate in 4 years. Being Pre-Admit to kelley is just a nice little bonus, but mostly a marketing scheme. Kelley is a top program and in a tier above Missouri. If you feel that you would fit in much better at Mizzou, or it would be significantly cheaper, then you may want to reconsider. IU business does deserve more recognition than it currently receives.

IU-Kelly is superior to Mizzou, if you think you can get in after freshman year go for it
