So my S1 mis-read one of the supplemental short answer essay questions and thus his response was written in error. Unfortunately, he submitted the application already. Is there anything he can do now to correct the situation??

what was the error, grammatical?

^^ No, he thought the question ‘Why are you drawn to the academic fields you indicated in the Anticipated Degree and Academic Interest questions above’ was referring both to the academic fields question as well as the ‘future plans’ question underneath (forget the exact wording of that one, sorry). In answering that way, he was less focused on the one or two academic fields as he tried incorporating his other 4 choices of possible career plans into his essay. In other words, the essay is a bit jumbled and does not directly correspond to the actual question.

Anything he can do now? HELP!!

there is no future plans ?
the questions is about why you want to go to brown

but idk if you can do anything i would call and ask i guess idk

No, not the ‘why Brown’ question, the other one…

I recall the premise of the question is to look back and explain how you got to today. It could be your son answered a question that asked him to look ahead (or both past + present + future). Nonetheless, it may not be nearly as bad as you’re creating it to be.

I’m not so sure it’s wise to call them on this issue, only because it may make you look bad. (Didn’t you read what you wrote? Didn’t you click on the box that asked you to print/preview?) There’s a lot of panicking that goes on here, but I suggest you let it go.

think you’re right. limabeans. Just wish we could retract it before they ever read it
I’m not gonna call them. Hopefully S’s app will shine way above that anyway!
