nobody proofread my short answer, even though I’m an international and my English is far from perfect I submitted it on the New Years Eve, so there were nobody to proofread for me. Same goes for St. Lawrence essays I’m pretty scared about that. St. lawrence isn’t my first choice though. And i think the essays were weak anyways :D

My 150 word description of an extracurricular got cut off. At least it cut it off at a specific point where it still reads quite well.

The very first sentence of my Personal Statement is as follows: ‘This past summer I spent my days observing compete strangers.’ Didn’t notice until after submitting spell-checker didn’t catch it either…

Gah repeat post sorry folks :S

Forgot to put down SAT subject test scores.

Also, I dated my signature with my birthday lol :P

I typed “apprehension” instead of “appreciation” in one of my supplementary essays. That makes a whole lot of difference :D

so i just handed in my applications to clarion university and lock haven university in pennsylvania and i realized that i put the 5 thinking it was june for when i graduate and for when i took my sat’s so does that mean they will send my application back to me??

I misspelled my counselors name and her email…I hope that doesn’t affect anything too much.
Also, I forgot to check off a box where it asks whether or not my mom works for a university…however, I listed her as self-employed, so this hopefully won’t be a problem.

i used insure instead of ensure on supplement.

anyone think that’s a big deal? hope not

I used too many “buts” in my UC personal statement…says my College Counselor…after I submitted it -- hopefully UCSC will overlook it (the essay is still pretty good) fingers crossed as SC is my fave instate school and my parents are pushing for Cali schools… -_-

On my Common App I put that I was a youth leison to adults. So instead of being a liaison, I am now a damaged tissue to adults. I applied to my dream school with this application!

My MAC put question Marks in front of all my paragraph (indentations) on my essay I didn’t even realize. I SHOULD HAVE DOUBLE CHECKED. This was on my UC app I am still so concerned I will look like an idiot

I accidentally gave myself a 2400 SAT. Woops.

After submitting my UC application, I found I mixed the order of my academic history, and right now I cannot edit it, what can I do now? Does anyone can help me? thanks a lot!

Call or email them asap

the LAST WORD of my 1000 character short response got cut off for some reason, even though it was under 1000 characters and I received no error message -_-

Should i correct this? It turned “to my community” to “to my communi”

I submitted all of applications- and I forgot to put National Honor Society as one of my activities! Also, I accidentally submitted an awful rough draft of my college essay in the additional writing section- oops! I emailed all of my schools to fix the mistakes though.

Before my guidance counselor sent out my application to Duke, she noticed my fiction teacher had put in my letter of reccomendation “She’d be much better off at Notre Dame.” Knowing him he probably orignally did it as a joke then forgot to delete it. I’m so glad she caught it.

I mixed up the words pallet and palette. I wanted to use “palette,” but used pallet instead. On my Common App. Which I sent to three schools. All three of which are my top choices. I feel like an idiot! I’m hoping adcoms don’t notice! I only realized after I submitted my app. :/

And the last word on my short answer got cut off. But I emailed the colleges about this.

This thread makes me feel so much better about myself.

In a Cornell essay I said I would be able to “submerge” myself in chemistry instead of “immerse”. Terrible, just terrible!

Also I didn’t add that I volunteered at a soup kitchen for the homeless on my main app.

Everytime I read an essay I already submitted I find some grammatical error or spelling error, so I try to refrain from reading them now!
