MIT - Chance?

Got a considerably good score on my SAT so I figured, why not apply to MIT?

Math: 780, Critical Reading: 800, Writing: 780 (total: 2360)
Haven't looked at my Biology-M and Math level 2 grades yet; think I did pretty well on the biology and not quite as good on the math one.

Taking a full AP regimen right now, going for the IB diploma (at this school, IB classes are also AP classes).
Class rank: 5/about 600
GPA: Don't know unweighted, they never asked; like 4.5 weighted
7 AP classes this year, 5 last year, mostly Honors classes (kinda halfway between AP and normal, they were required for IB) before then.

Since the IB class schedule is restrictive, I could only take one elective a year, so I've taken Computer Hardware and Maintenance, Web Design, and CISCO Networking.

Extracurriculars:
Was involved with the school band in 9th grade, played pretty much all the woodwind parts in this year's pit orchestra.
Did Model UN this year; I didn't report that since we didn't really do anything at that point, though.
Business Professionals of America, I've done that for three years, been involved in meetings and statewide competitions and whatnot. Placed highly in CISCO Networking and PC Hardware.
County Technology Fair, won first place in that for the last two years.
Key Club, also didn't report that since we didn't do a whole lot this year but I've been in that, community service group.
Did Mock Trial this year, didn't report that either since we hadn't competed before the application was due.
All kinds of little random clubs like the math honors club, Spanish honor society club, etc.

In IB, you have to do 150 hours of service, action, and creativity, so we've done projects along those lines, like a Halloween thing for the high school and landscaping a small pond area behind the school. Also helped out with a self defense class a friend of my dad's was teaching at his church (yeah, go figure), though I thought that'd be silly to mention. Mostly, I just mentioned the fact that I was in IB, and was doing the 150 hours of work.

The interview went... all right, I guess. I mentioned that I'd be willing to transfer to Harvard if I decided to go into politics instead of information technology (hurriedly saying after that I was pretty much positive that I was going into IT, but the damage was kinda done). >.<

I'm pretty musical, and have played the flute and the guitar for a while. I mentioned that in the application and interview. I don't know if they'll count that as a good thing or a bad thing.

Anyway, I figure whatever comes from it, I'm going into the honors program at University of Minnesota if I don't go to MIT, so no big loss. With scholarships it's way cheaper, so either route is fine with me.

Thanks :D

Hmmm.. You really cant say.... Your SAT scores and EC's are strong, but what about your SAT II's? Courseload seems to be good too... But then, MIT is a reach for anyone ! All the best!

What other colleges are you applying to btw?
