Georgia Tech is also releasing decisions within 2 hours of MIT decisions, I hope I will not be disappointed with my MIT rejection for long.
@kiriii I can empathize with @Anniebot. The message on the financial aid page says just that they can not process your application owing to their not receiving the tax forms. A clearer message would be that they can’t process the financial aid application specifically. My heart skipped a beat when I saw that too. I’d hate for kiddo to lose out on MIT for some silly administrative bungling. (Thanks a lot College Board!) College Board is still in the bungling process.
MIT decision day has been haunting my dreams. Pi day will break me for sure.
@patertrium Apparently processing my mom’s tax return as my own (the students) despite not having one at all is okay. I called in and they said the college would know the difference… it’s all kind of ridiculous.

UCSD just released their decisions, for all who applied. Definitely helped soften the blow of my inevitable MIT rejection tomorrow lol

Does anyone know if there’s any benefits you can reap from MIT if you get accepted but don’t attend?
I have a very slim chance of getting accepted but I’ve also sort of decided that if I do I won’t go. but it’s still such an appealing school and I want to be part of it somehow…
@splinshints I think most of the benefits derived from being accepted to MIT involve actually attending the university. Why don’t you want to attend MIT?
On the bright side if we get rejected at least it is pi day!
@splinshints You can take a screen shot and hang it on your dorm wall and impress the hall mates. “Yeah, I could’ve gone to MIT…” JK!
