MIT Defered Applicant Needs Advice

Hello all,

I'm an MIT EA applicant who was recently deferred. My biggest question is, what do I do right now? I still hope dearly I can get into MIT and I know the only other opportunity I have to change how I'm viewed by the committee is in the Updates section in my Midyear Report (I believe). My questions for the College Confidential community are -- What exactly can I say on the Updates section? -- and -- What does the Midyear Report actually look like? I'll list some of the things I do to generate responses as to what I can include regarding what I've been doing since I applied.

President of National Honor Society - Since I've applied, I've helped to start a new project in which National Honor Society members make blankets for children undergoing chemotherapy treatment, working with Camp One Step at a time

Vice President of Model United Nations - I have gone on another conference

Computer Science - I have designed a new game and implemented it in a game table so that students on their free periods can play it for a quarter and the proceeds go to charity

President of RIOT (Researchers and Investigators of Tomorrow) - This is essentially Science Fair. We're a very successful science fair school and I have made advancements with my project since last time, and I should soon be building a working model of a redesigned car part. This is rather large.

Rather than continue the list, which I can do later, I ask the question: What should I do now, and what should I report?

Thanks

Work on your grades?
MIT is more concerned w/ academics and intellect than anything, I think…
