Is anyone else unable to see a financial aid option on their portal?

Iā€™ve checked my spam folder, my portal, and am periodically refreshing my email, but I still havenā€™t gotten the email from MIT announcing early action decision information. Iā€™ve heard that they had quite a bit more applicants this year, so maybe theyā€™re still rolling out emails, but should I be concerned that I havenā€™t gotten t yet?

No.

Is there anything I should do if I still donā€™t get it by tomorrow?

I havenā€™t seen an email, but the EA release was a blog post: MIT EA decisions to be posted Saturday, 12/19/20, 3:14 PM ET | MIT Admissions

Thanks @AlwaysMoving . I heard of everyone getting an email.

Good luck everybody!!

I work at MIT (in a research lab, nowhere near admissions so I donā€™t have any inside info on that) and this year they announced only about a month ago that they were making the days between Xmas and new years holidays, which is probably why admissions has decided to push the regular decision deadline back a few days as they have less work days now between EA and RD.

My daughter received an email yesterday at 2pm from admissions with the info about the Saturday EA decision release. So I would think everyone should have gotten an email.

Hi everyone! Anyone know how important/significant getting an interview is to an early applicant? I still havenā€™t received one and Iā€™m getting a bit nervous. Thanks

MIT repeatedly says it doesnā€™t matter.

Right. Just double checking! Thanks.

Will the Norā€™easter hitting the east coast affect the EA release date/time? I assume not, but if anyone has a specific answer from admissions, please share.

Caltech coaches have absolutely no pull. MIT coaches have some pull. As long as the applicant is academically qualified, they definitely get a boost at MIT. I know this because my D goes to Caltech and one of herhigh school classmates got into MIT as a rowing recruit. His stats were good but definitely not competitive on their own.

That is odd though. My S was also rejected from Caltech. But when we contacted the coach, he said the athlete recruit would get boost from him. He asked us to fill out a support form.

Same. My D filled out one of those too and did not get in to CalTech. No scores = no bueno for us.

thank you for your insights!
