I tried to instiall my MIT email in Outlook Express, it asked me for "incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server." What should I put for that? What about "outgoing mail (SMTP server)?"

I'm downloading Eudora from MIT right now. So, outgoing.mit.edu is all I need? How about incoming.mit.edu (is this logical) for incoming server?

never mind, it never asked me for it when I was installing. I looked at the "help" menu and found "payment and registration." It said that if I used "paid mode" it will charge me. Mollie, did you use the "paid mode," the "sponsored mode", or the "light mode?"

I tried to create my signature, but it don't let me. Do you know how I can create one. Thanks!

Hi everyone. As a current student consultant at the MIT Computing Help Desk, I'd like to let you guys know that we will no longer be supporting Eudora in the near future and we are recommending people switch to Outlook, Outlook Express, or Apple Mail.

The instructions are sent in that big package arriving in May. There is a page with your MIT ID and a code of activation that can only be used once. Try to look for that email account setup page in the package.

but um anyone else having problems accessing the register site? it says "the registration server unexpectedly stopped communicating with us. This may indicate a temporary problem with the registration system, or with the network...." for me and stops... =(

I tried to create some folders (names include "hometown," "family," "school," etc) but the webmail did not allow me to do so. These names were not bad words; why didn't it let me create these mailbox folders? You know, like Hotmail and Yahoo, you can create folders to classify your emails.

You have to check the "INBOX" checkbox in the "Folders" menu when you create a new folder -- that is, your folders have to be one level below the inbox.
