MIT MITES Summer 2014

Haha. Lord of the rings was the best [and original star wars = win]. Did you ever play the ps2 games of lord of the rings or battlefront? :0. Also, I played with legos, but was anybody else obsessed with the magnetic balls/sticks? I remember I used to play with those all the time.

Yes!!

OMG YES I still have them lol

I’m actually more of a Knex person myself; when I was younger I had probably upwards of 80,000 pieces sitting around in my house. I did enjoy Legos, especially the train sets! I remember spending hours designing my own train tracks and cars on Creator.

(Anyone familiar with the Knexpert Search, perchance?)

I had issues with knex lol. The joints would never work quite right for me. @fred/emy, “YESS!!” for ps2 games or magnetic balls/sticks (what was the name…? )

Btw, for you guys that have heard of myers briggs, what personality type are you?
Personally I am an INTJ

I’m an ENTJ!

lol MBTI. I’m INFJ. Anyone know about cognitive function stacks?

and yiiissss Lord of the Rings! I love the trilogy and The Hobbit books, as well as the Lord of the Rings movies, but I really feel like the Hobbit movie trilogy is overkill. >_>

@Fredsterboard you are not alone on the Star Trek bit lol.

I have not. I’m assuming it’s another personality test? and if yes can you link me to a site or something to take it?

I’m an INTJ also! Twins

Enneagram is harder to test correctly for, imo, but I’ll link you to a chart and a couple of the tests I personally used:
Test 1: http://www.enneagramquiz.com/quiz.html</a>
Test 2/3: <a href=“Eclectic Energies Enneagram Tests (free)”>Eclectic Energies Enneagram Tests (free);

Chart: http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/file_downloads/enneaChart.asp#.U1RlXFVdWSo</a></p>

Thanks for the input guys! I was always into the Smithsonian science kits as a young kid haha. I spent way too much time doing that and building model rockets, tons of them (probably explains why I am going to college for aerospace engineering)

For the Enneagram test I got type 5, or, more specifically, 5w6.

Results for test 1: 3w2, 7w6, 1w9
As for myers briggs, INTP

the myers briggs descriptions sound like confirmation bias to me. They all sound like they could apply to you if you read them. Sorry to be so speculative:P

my results were inconsistent for the Enneagram test :/

and model rockets all the way!!

@emywemy610‌ INTJs are sorta more likely to be type 5 on the Enneagarm lol.

@Greenwave2015 it depends what sources you’re reading/what perspective you take on MBTI. MBTI isn’t really a personality test - what it truly is is an attempt to categorize thinking patterns. It just so happens that certain thinking patterns are highly correlated with actual personality traits; for instance, if you have an F for Feeling, that means you naturally take into account and emphasize how your decisions will affect other people on an emotional or personal level, and this translates into a tendency to be sympathetic or empathetic of others.
It’s just that, thanks to marketing and all, people like to parade around MBTI as an oh-so-wow-accurate personality test because it seems much more appealing to the general populace that way.

@Fredsterboard yeahhh lol that sometimes happens with Enneagram, which is why I suggested using the chart. Self-typing with the chart (or, if you have time to burn, asking to be typed by the lovely people on Personality Cafe) is probably much more reliable. Should keep in mind, though, that in principle everybody has some characteristics of all Enneagram types; E-typing is all about figuring out what is MOST important to you and what you MOST fear.

disclaimer I’ve always felt necessary to say when discussing these things - MBTI and Enneagram shouldn’t be used as labels to box yourselves in, but tools to better understand yourself and others and for self-growth. Just putting that out there :)

most important to me = happiness, biggest fear = death. That was a fast test. xD

@Fredsterboard we’ll make a new type just for you! :P
