They already released the figures for the Fall’17 transfers?
…
found it ! @tellywellyjelly
hey it’s out!!
rejected
Would anyone who was accepted mind sharing some of their info? Thinking my bad HS GPA and being a sophomore-transfer was probably what worked against me the most and curious if I should make the effort next year.
Rejected.
I built a working fusion reactor and received letters of rec from two MIT professors (the head and the undergraduate director of nuclear science and engineering at MIT). It is apparent MIT transfer admissions are a roll of the dice at best.
What ? ^^^ I actually checked out your website and found it very neat. I also liked your tritium(h3) vials pretty cool! I was sure you would get in!!! Where else did you apply? @fusioneer
@ahsan33 I only applied to MIT. That was probably not the best decision, but it’s too late to change now. I’m not happy at UCSC (general lack of resources and majors that I wish to pursue), so I will try to transfer next year to a college that offers nuclear or mechanical engineering. I was not expecting a rejection and just feel numb to any emotion at the moment. Now I have to tell my contacts at MIT that it didn’t work out.
Thanks for checking out my website. I really appreciate the feedback.
I’m in the same boat, but you deserved it more than I did!!! I hope you achieve your true potential; why don’t you try UC Berkeley?
Advice: Please be grateful for what you have, things could have been much worse than they are now. @fusioneer
I’m sorry if my last post came off as entitled. that was not the intention. The professors at UCSC are very nice, and I think UCSC is a great school for certain areas of study. The thing is, I want to go into fusion research, and UCSC doesn’t have a nuclear engineering department.
I will definitely be applying to UC Berkeley next year. I know the chair of nuclear engineering there, and my family lives in Berkeley.
Best of luck in your endeavors! @ahsan33
@fusioneer Thanks mate
^ Very disappointed for you.
Damn! If I expected anyone to get in it would be you. Im sorry man
some of my friends got in. if you’re an international, having some kind of marker of national/international academic excellence really helps. both were olympiad medalists, in addition to being artistic and cool people. i didn’t have the same opportunities that they did to be trained for these types of things as they did, so I was disappointed, but not discouraged by the rejection, especially when so many people who were impressive did not get in =) Best of luck to all in the future.
