MIT- Woman's Technology Program (WTP)-Who is applying?! =]

So , who is applying for summer 2008?
I definitely am! I just finished my application yesterday. I'm really nervous. I'll probably get rejected.lol. I just think it's better to get into a pessissimistic view, so that way, if I DO get rejected then at least I won't feel as bad!
If you want , you can post your stats.
PSAT: 219
SAT:2100 -> Math came down aot lower. =[ I have no clue what happened.
ECs: Nothing big b/c I go to a school with nothing available to do. =[ I Just mainly self study alot of stuff on my own.
Essays: haha. I have no clue. I always think mine are horrible.

Are you guys nervous, excited or what?

I was applying to MITES and found out about WTP a few weeks later, so it looked like an interesting alternative in case I got rejected. I'm almost finished with my application.
Stats: [unworthy of being posted]
ECs: Robotics, SECME, NTHS
Essays: not all done yet

I'm very excited about the opportunity, but like the OP, I won't expect anything and just hope for the best :)

Technol21: That's great to hear that you are applying too!
I am sure your Stats are amazing! Plus consider this, your EC's are way better than mine.. b/c my school only offers 2 clubs!! Pathetic. =/ haha
I am really excited though!

hey guys. I'm a WTP 2007 participant (in EECS), so if you have any questions about the program, feel free to ask! I highly recommend it; WTP was one of the best experiences I've had! :)

Hi, tennisgirl08, I hear the criteria is "Female high school students currently in grade 11" - is this only for grade 11 or can some one in grade 12 also participate?
TIA

i am! i am! (well i think i am)
PSAT: 226
Some decent SAT IIs and APs
ECs: Too unfocused and all over the place
Essays: errrr about those...

:) just a little behind schedule.

@ AskMe02:
Unfortunately, only juniors can apply to WTP- you go the summer before your senior year.

I hope to...my stats aren't discouraging, it's the price. (we have the money, my parents are just unwilling to pay it).

PSAT: 217
ACT: 30
AP Calculus AB, taking USH and Lit
ECs: Theater, primarily, but also Science Olympiad
Essays: these are probably the most terrifying part.

@ burnitblue:
Apply for financial aid; you never know what you'll get! I personally got a nice offer from them, and my family's well-off.

PSAT: 208 (this year i got 217 but i sent in last year's because math was 76 as opposed to 73)
SAT IIs: math2 800 and bio-E 770

ECs: a bunch of math stuff and art club
Essays: I think I did pretty well

I'm applying to EECS
I really hope I get in it seems like a lot of fun

hey i already started this thread!!

I will be ... haha, I should get on that.

PSAT: 232 (my sophomore year it was 233, I couldn't believe it went down.)
ACT: 35
took AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, Calculus II at a university, Physics
ECs: uh, tennis and a bunch of departmental clubs
Essays: don't want to think about these yet!

What is the WTP? And also EEEC?

Oh, dud, now I know why my kid is so out of it. She's like her mom!

Hmm, I am going to send this website to my daughter. She got 215 PSAT and will make the cutoff in our state to be a semi-finalist. Also she has good GPA so far, I think 3.7.
Her ACT not so great, 30 composite, 32 Eng., 32 reading, 26science, 29math.
Ha, in 7th grade her Duke TIP ACT score in reading was 33, I notice above someone else couldn't believe a score to DROP when they are supposedly older and wiser now.
Still, not good enough for MIT, doesn't look like. MIT also has a summer program that is free for high scorer, the research institute, but only takes what 50 students for this summer thing, I doubt my kid will be one of them, esp.since she won't be applying! And Esp. not looking at these scores posted here.
