Mit

chances?

Female, polish passport

Grade average 4.15 out of 6 ( I was never obsessed by marks, because they are useless in Polish colleges admissions. U.S education is quite new idea.)
SAT 2240 (m:800, w:740, cr:700)
SAT II math 2c:800, physics:800, world history:800
TOEFL passed (I know, my english is poor, but I learned only how to crack this test :) )

EC's
Polish II League volleyball player
school volleyball team captain
deeply involved in school's life - events organisation, taking part in competitions, exchanges, acting in plays...
course of acting with a Berliner's Theatre actress
Climbing (some courses in safety procedures & first aid too)
snowboarding instructor license
programming club
writing (I can't post my stories, though, because they're in polish :) I'm not able to translate word games, some key words, etc :( )
some olympiads with not remarkable successes (maybe 2nd place in linguistic olympiad)
and others, which are my stimulants more than my own work: music, skating, theatre, movies etc...

I'm working now in small company as an informatic and server administrator (just 3h/week).

I volunteered in "Malta" - first aid organisation, working at huge events.

Sorry for english

you got 700CR and 740W, and still you are whining about your english!
Am I missing something here?

test is just a test, not always according to actual knowledge :)
I was worried about essay only, but it was not as bad...

Don't you think that for non-native speakers correcting sentences is easier? They had to learn about structures in very analytical way.

OK but tell me if it is worth applying?

I don't know how MIT judges international students or if they have a different criterion at all, but MIT is really unique in its admissions application as in you could have a below average GPA and still get in. I think they bank a lot off of essays and your personal qualities. So I would think that if you could do something really special with your essays you could always have some chance. Your SAT 2s are good and SAT is pretty decent.

So I'll try :)

The worst thing is that I'll need financial aid, and only the best colleges offer it for foreigners... My grade average is disqualifying when thinking about these schools. So MIT, with unpredictable admissions is my last chance :)
