Has anyone gotten a MOSTEC information packet yet? I’m so curious!

Congratulations, zoloft!

Congrats Zoloft! Don’t forget to join the FB group :)

Everyday I get more and more anxious to go to mites…

What did you guys put down for the places you wish to visit? I really want to go to Martha’s Vineyard/Cape Cod, that would be awesome!!! :D

Who have already ordered their tickets?

My momma bought my tickets a few weeks ago. I’m glad someone from mit is coming to pick us up at the airport, otherwise I would be afraid of getting lost and whatnot

I did! What time are you arriving and what time are you leaving?

MOSTEC: None that I know of!

I bought my tickets last week, good thing too because I checked the prices again and they sky rocketed.

for the field trips i think i put cape cod, mos, and mofa, but i’d be happy with any of the options they gave us.
btw, does anyone know why in the letter they had quotations around “fun”? lol

emeka-
I’m leaving from OKC around 7 am and should arrive n Boston in the early afternoon. 1 layover in Dallas

I put down the Museum of Science, New England Acquarium, and MoFA. Then again, I used to spend summers at Cape Cod (one was a summer program, others were vacations). Overall, I don’t really care WHERE we go, because I think the company is more important for trips like that. I’ve been to many of these places, but it’s always fun to experience it anew when someone else has never been.

Lol…I think I’m arriving early…like 7:30 after quite the layover in Phoenix.
For field trips I’ve never been to any of those places…they all seem like places where we could have a good time (:

Guys, the information packet is a little confusing. Does it mean to say we should arrive by 3pm or is it 8pm?
Do they mean we should depart between 7am and 3pm and arrive between 10am and 8pm or what?

Hi to those on the waitlist I think the final list of MITES was sent out to participant. If you haven’t received anything I’m sorry :(

Yeah, I received a packet with the official list of MITES 2012 participants. The packet also includes clearer instructions for traveling so I already got my question answered.

Spoke with MITES office last week and they said they will make final decisions on waitlists by the 15th. Not sure if i would give up hope just yet. Good luck all!

Hey guys! I’m a MITES 2011-er and I just saw a few questions on this thread and I figured I should address them:
- Food is provided for dinner on Sunday- Thurday. You get a $70 card for breakfast/ lunch/ snacks and for all meals on Friday and Saturday you have to either use that $70 card or spending money. Note that places such as Martha’s Vineyard won’t take the card so you must bring a credit/ debit card and/ or cash! Laundry is not provided and you need to bring all your resources… so if you run out of shampoo then you can either go to LaVerde’s (not recommended… extremely over priced, I paid like $8 for a shampoo bottle…) and ALSO: BRING YOUR SCHOOL SUPPLIES FROM HOME!! You won’t get to go to Target until the second weekend and again, LaVerde’s (it’s the convenience store) will sell you notebooks for $10 and I doubt you’d want to pay that And yeah, souvenirs you have to cover for yourself… ALSO BRING CAMERAS! YOU DEFINITELY WILL WANT TO DOCUMENT THIS SUMMER!
- Housing is at Simmons Hall… YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT! There’s like a bunch of little windows… just wait to see it-- it’ll be awesome! Go online and type MIT Simmons Hall! Also you’ll be sharing your time with RSI students-- get to know them! They’re incredible!

@shostakovich95
Hey shostakovich95, how would you describe the dorm room situation? Are there bathrooms in each room?, or is there a community bathroom which is typical in many dorms. Also, where exactly can the food card be used at, only on the MIT campus or off campus as well?
