Now I AM jealous. My school only has senior prom Dx

Also, I have a third back-up summer program as of Tuesday, whoo hoo! Besides taking Dual Enrollment courses if I get rejected from MITES and Quest Bridge, I get to take place in a Robotics internship doing research and learning all I don’t know with a local university.

That’s a pretty awesome back up program. Congrats!

And I definitely don’t have a junior prom at my school. I was referring to senior year.

@Ozzy: Awesome! I’m curious; when did you first develop your love for robotics?

Maybe it’s just my school o_O. We have both lol. I was going to skip it and hit the beach or have an anti-prom party instead (almost all of my female friends are in relationships at the moment, and I am not keen on reprising my role as third wheel… which none of them seem to understand lol), but one of my friend/acquaintences asked me to go as friends with her beause she’s in the same situation. So I may or may not go.

@lldm21 I think you should still go. Because if you don’t go, and you’re like me, you’ll always wonder what it would have been like if you didn’t go. Also, you never know who you’ll meet. And what’s the worst that could happen? You get bored? This is just my perspective though. I hope I’ve helped.

Short and simple? or Really long? or in between?

Well it when I was a child and my mom becoming furious at the fact that I was disarming all my toys xD. Then as I grew up I developed a love for science and destroying my toys was the only available solution at hand, for the time being. Then I left Venezuela, moved here and spent three years (before I began high-school) bored. In highschool I met my crazy teacher for “introduction to engineering” (I am in an engineering magnet program) and he saw potential in me. That being said, he sent me to build my first robot, it was alright for my first time and it got me really intrigued about all I could do and how much fun it was (specially at the competitions, I am VERY competitive). The year after, I built my second robot (the robot that appears in my picture on tumblr), and in my first competition I qualified to attend a Robotics World Championship in California. That was just the beginning, but seeing what my hard work and ability provided just reinforced the appreciation I had for this activity. Now I am team captain for all of my school’s robotics teams (or at least the ones that perform well in competition lol) and have managed to receive several accolades and continue to be inspired towards Robotics and the mission of spreading science and technology in society; which is why I find Dean Kamen to be such an inspirational figure.

lldm21, at this rate no, I have absolutely no confidence when it comes to asking someone out, hence is why I’ve never done it @_@ Oh, and what is this “dance” you speak of? Do you mean failing like an octopus?

Hoctopi, You have another vote for “S**t Rivstein Says”

Dream Girl…Yeah, still clueless…
I guess Intelligent, Determined, Patient, Funny and Fun to be around? I’m hopeless with this, so what does it matter XD

Ozzy, Are you on a FRC team? I forgot @_@ Long Island Compo is going on atm and taking over my life this weekend! :D

@Nashia: Bored and out ~$120 :P. I used to wonder about “what ifs”, but I don’t anymore; I’m less stressed that way, haha

@Ozzy: Lol, I like that story; it’s inspiring :). What kinds of robots do you make, function-wise?

@Ozzy That is phenomenal that you have that type of interest, and at such a young age. You kind of remind me of Michael Scoffield off of Prison Break. Long story short, he was the bomb.com. lbs

@lldm21 Case closed. $120 though? I agree with you now. I would only go if you know that your friends won’t be with their dates the entire night.

I guess that answers my question @_@ late posts ftw

I am part of VEX, FTC, and FRC. Competitions change every year. VEX and FTC are small robots, 18x18x18 inches, here is what the robots were supposed to do this year:

I would love to show you vidoes of my own, but I happened to have only own one, and it wasn’t even practice at our field. Unfortunately, I was not able to qualify to any World Championships this year. VEX I could have and still mad at myself I didnt, FTC I was overwhelmed by work and didn’t care as much for it, FRC my mentor should have listened to me. Sorry small rant, I am still a little angry.

@MobiusUno good luck!!! And if you qualify to nationals, watch out for team 180, they won last year and are still wrecking (Florida and Canada teams tend to be REALLY good 0.o). Hey, you gotta man up to ask girls out bro. Although I’ve gotten rejected every time, it’s not that bad lol. I’m kinda nervous right now actually, I asked this girl out not long ago but I still don’t know what she is going to say Dx. I’ve only seen her once in the last 6 months so I sent her a letter, but she is in a bad mood because she got rejected from all the out-of-state colleges she applied to and hasn’t talked to me since that day because she was depressed (she said she was going to disappear for a while that day, but what scares me is that I don’t know if she got the letter or how she feels about it because of all other emotions Dx).

Also given the fact that I have not many classes left to take in High School, I am transferring to a program called AAA. What it does is that I take three highschool classes and at least six dual enrollment (three per semester) and they also have a Robotics team. Fortunately, their mentor is not as hard headed as hours, and he knows I am a Veteran so he is welcoming me and accepting all of the changes I am bringing to them; making it better than the group I was in before, hopefully.

As you can see, I’m rather stressed right now lol.

Thanks!!! :D. I am flattered lol. ^.^

Wow, you put me to shame @_@

Would that argument have to do with climbing by chance? :P

@OzzyArmas,
Oh haha our VEX is so pro… We have like 5-6 teams qualified for worlds O_O
FTC on the other hand we do have one team that qualified
FRC we were going to participate but then nobody had time.

I’m not going to prom

Off-topic, but does anyone else tell their parents that you’re going to bed and then stay up late doing homework? I’m currently in my room doing calc by the light of my computer so they don’t see my light coming from around the door… I’m a rebel xD

@Alpha
Interesting on the VEX. My school’s program is so broke we can barely afford making four robots lol. Do you think you could hook me up with a flight no Anaheim this year? lol. It was so much fun last year, I really miss it. It’s kinda what I sense MITES to be like, but MITES having less people and more intelligence and determination. The other two, there isn’t much for me to comment about except that I am sorry you didn’t get to do FRC, it’s by far the best.

@MobiusUno
More than you can think of. He was soooooooo OBSESSED with that climbing. In the end, we had an accurate shooter and an obsolete arm that only worked as defense -.-. Not to mention he has some sort of arm fetish (He always says to put an arm on a robot) and loves to build “defensive” robots. The only defensive robot I’ve built is for FTC and is because we gave up on it and built a wall bot, ironically enough we got to the semi finals and were the choosing alliance XD.

@Lovely
I tell my mom: “Hasme cafe, que voy a estar parado asta tarde” English: “Give me coffee, I will be up til tale.” My “rebellion” is whenever I am not home, they know the beginning and the end locations but not anything that happened in between XD. During breaks (winter/summer/spring) I tend to leave my house by 8 am and get back at midnight lol

My parents don’t care if I stay up late haha. They know I’m probably doing homework.

@lovely Why aren’t you going to prom? :(

I don’t know if I’m going to mine o:

@MobiusUno I forgot something, don’t feel so bad. My GPA (unweighted) is pretty “bad” (3.691), and my SAT was 1870 -.-* (Alpha, I know what you have, I saw the post asking for a chance in Quest Bridge, don’t make me feel bad again lol)

lovelylily28, Again, what is sleep? I just wait till everyone else is asleep (not hard, they fall asleep at eleven). It’s less about me going to bed so much as it is me not waking everyone up! Besides, 4-5 hours of sleep is plenty, and I’ve gotten by on 2-3. Recommended? No, but it helps in a pinch.

@OzzyArmas, FRC this year takes too much time… I have really great ideas about the frisbee shooter and climbing mechanism (takes the longest) but oh well!

Our robotics club is really rich…due to a bunch of sponsors and yea!

I’m not going to Anaheim myself :P

Ozzy, I’ve seen worse You’ll be fine
