<p>Oh my gosh. I have to vent some of my frustration here. I just received this email: </p>
<p>"Thank you for your transfer application to Duke. Since we are able to
provide financial aid only to transfer students who are citizens or Lawful
Permanent Residents of the United States, unfortunately we will be unable
to consider your candidacy.</p>
<p>Should you want to change your application to indicate that you will not
seek financial aid at Duke, we would be glad to consider you for a spot in
the transfer class. Please note that if you are admitted to Duke and
decide to attend, you will have to provide documentation to show that your
family can fund the costs of your time at Duke in order for us to sponsor
your visa application. If you would like to withdraw your request for
financial aid, please contact me at ----- no later than
April 9."</p>
<p>I AM A U.S. CITIZEN!! They have my SS number, New York State high school transcript, financial aid information of my mother and myself. Yes, I attended college in the United Kingdom, but I was born and raised here (which would be clear not only from stats, but my essays as well). </p>
<p>Does this mean I will automatically be rejected because of this mix-up???
I am probably over-reacting. I sent an email back stating there must have been some mistake, but what if I'm already considered out of the running?</p>
