Have any of you that applied to MMSS received an e-mail regarding your acceptance/rejection?

nope nothin

When are decisions coming out?!?!?!?!?!
I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!!!

.<

they did say about two weeks after the decisions come out in the email sent out a while ago...does anyone know the mmss acceptance rate?

Past admission rates aren't gonna be helpful because MMSS used to be like a hidden gem. Now way more people know about it because of its relation to the Kellogg cert program.

AHH!!!
i wish it were still hidden!!!

do you guys know how we'll be notified?....email or login at the site?

I think its email...hopefully they let us know this week. If i get in, I am definetely going to NU.

I got it.. but NU gave me 10k less than duke. w/e

i got in too, i think im going to go to NU over Wash U now

What is the relation between MMSS and Kellogg Cert??

MMSS automatically fulfills the pre-reqs.

Accepted!!!!
Holy ****!!!!!
Soooo Excited!!!!!

How about we visit during the first Preview NU set of days so that we can meet each other? Someone make an MMSS group on facebook please.

How prestigious is getting the MMSS as a freshman? Is it reallly that big of a deal?

if i didnt get the email, does that mean i didn't get in? I got some kaplan humanities invitation crap but thats it.

CNI: according to the MMSS web page, they admit about 20 freshmen and 20 sophomores each year. So, it is a big deal. My daughter got in today, but now she has a hard time deciding whether to go to Dartmouth or to go to Northwestern. If she had not been admitted into the MMSS program, she can easily select Dartmouth over Northwestern.

How prestigious is this MMSS program? I got in too, but NU gave me crap financial aid and it is going to cost me 29,000 dollars more per year than the other college I'm considering, UCSD, where I would probably major in Math/Econ

CNI,
Check out Current Recruiters, Current Students, MMSS, Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences, Northwestern University
The table there shows what organizations/companies are recruiting MMSS students this quarter. The quarter just started, so that's why there are only two listed. Last quarter, one of the companies shown on the table was McKinsey. Many of these companies also recruit the general NU population and hold campus-wide interviews but when they appear on this table, they are specificly recruiting MMSS students on top of their university-wide recruiting.

The program was founded under the leadership of Dean Rudy Weingarter as a special interdisciplinary program in the social sciences...The founding faculty also thought that the program would help generate student interest in research careers in the social sciences. Although the program has had some success along these dimensions, some of its accomplishments were not fully anticipated. For one, the appeal of our students to the business community turned out to be an imporant aspect of its ultimate success.

I heard from a few people in it said it's a rigorous program but they all said it's worth it.

crazydad001,

I think I read that they expanded it to 30 each because of the level of student interest.
