MOC nom vs. Presidential nom

Has everyone who has received an appointment so far been accepted based on their MOC nom? My son has an alternate nom from his MOC and a Presidential nom. Do they try to exhaust MOC sources for noms before they give out the Presidential appointments. I know there is a large pool of candidates with Presidential noms and they will only give out <100. Our MOC's office is also working on finding another source as the Congressman's primary candidate accepted his appointment.

In the end, it's USNA that decides which Nom is used for the appointment. They will shuffle them to get the most efficient overall class appointment listing. Obviously, some of the shifting waits untill last minute to account for declined appointments, medical disquals, etc...etc.

Jake had only 1 nomination and it was from his congresswoman. The senator said that Jake didn't need it because he already had one from the congresswoman. It was a competative nomination w/out ranking by the moc.

My nomination is Presidential and i have recieved my appointment. So I guess they give them out, perhaps to those with loa's. Any other military dependents get loa's and presidential nominations?

yeah asward, thats the way i got mine too.

I know someone who got an LOA & Appointment in October by the Presidential route. So, they are out there.

Our son had his Presidential nom. in December (as soon as we found the right copy of the DD214!) and his appointment within 2 weeks.
