Model United Nations

I'm not entirely sure where to post this, but I felt I would give it a stab here. Does anyone go to or know of a southern college (that isn't top notch) that has an MUN program. I probably wont get into a school like Rice, and outside of Elon I can't find much that matches my interests (I've looked and am considering Miami with MUN partly as the reason). If it helps I'll probably be going into some combination of business, polisci, and economics. I can get into the majority of schools, just not the cream of the crop (most likely). I only started MUN as a junior, but I really have enjoyed it in my time in high school (done pretty well, although I'm yet to win me a gavel), and was going to possibly let it dictate what school I go to (obviously not a deciding factor, but a factor nevertheless). If anyone has any suggestions of colleges that fit my idea it would be great.

I'm in MUN at Wake Forest (was the treasurer last year) It's a decent club. We go to Georgetown, UPenn, UVA, and UChicago over the year. It is similar to Elon (my brother goes to Elon) in culture, but a more well-regarded school. If you have any questions you can PM me.

William and Mary has a really good MUN group that operates out of the International Relations Club. They are competitive, but offer the opportunity to travel to one conference for everyone, regardless of skill or previous experience.

dunno how 'not top' you want to go, but georgia southern has a pretty fab MUN program- one of the 5 oldest in the nation. I go to their highschool program every year and it's definately one of the better h/s ones i've gone to-i've got a friend going to NYC repping south africa with the college team. just a thought!

Theres a MUN conference taking place at the end of this year in Pakistan incase any one of you might be interested. i made a thread on it already

Baylor has such a good MUN program that they frequently annihilate their competitors, including many of the Ivies. William and Mary supposedly has a good program as well.

William and Mary, Florida State, Coast Guard Academy (obviously that one requires a bit more commitment, lol), and UVA are ones that come to mind. LOTS of southern schools with great MUN teams; try going to any major conference’s website (Georgetown, UPenn, Yale, Harvard, McGill, etc.) and they’ll often have a listing of the schools that attend their conferences.
