But there are much better christian schools full of people who believe in god…

So you’re okay with going to an unaccredited school (i.e doesn’t count)

But you’re not okay with going to the same school as your sister…?

… I don’t think your understand how well-known it is that evolution is a thing that happens. Evolution has been observed. In fact, one of the reasons the HIV/AIDS is so difficult to cure is because it EVOLVES up to hundreds of times in each individual. The swine flu EVOLVED from other strains of the flu.

Wow! Look at that, evolution is action! Silly theory, you can’t be right because it hasn’t been proven!

“God is just a theory, but Christians teach God as fact”. See how that works there?

If you think BJU is so great, why don’t you just go there?

I think it is a great university to grow in faith. And, it isn’t until this message that I actually said the word GREAT, so don’t assume. Evolution is a theory in a sense that humans did not evolve from monkies.

But why would waste all that money on a degree that your employers won’t see as valid. There are so many better Christian schools.

“Evolution is a theory in a sense that humans did not evolve from monkies.”

If it’s a theory, i.e. has not been proven nor disproven, you cannot then conclude, as a matter of fact, “humans did not evolve from monkeys”.

(1) That’s the fallacy of an “argument from ignorance”

(2) You are correct, the theory does not say humans evolved from monkeys, they evolved from earlier primates. Modern monkeys are very late in the evolution of the Primates order.

You are certainly defending Bob Jones very strongly. Have you considered that it actually may be a good fit for you?

Is the evolution debate really appropriate here?

I’m not defending BJU I am defending my beliefs. Either way you aren’t sure that we evolved from “primates” because you never witnessed it with your own eyes.

@Calla1

S/he said her only issue with the school, was that her sister goes there (which raises more questions that I don’t think I want the answer to)

how big is the school? I doubt that your sister going there would make a diffierence in your experience there.

Stressedoutt is right there is no point in arguing over evolution vs. creationism because we both believe in different things. So, NYU2013 if you have nothing important to stay stop commenting. Be more mature than that.

Can we end the evolution debate…we haven’t seen “evolution” with our own eyes, nor have we seen “the creation” with our own eyes. Nobody Knows the answer.
We’re here debating why BJU is/isn’t a refutable college, where else you could go, what else you could do, etc.

And Sarai, you’re being just as immature, so there’s no need to try to get the last word. Let’s just get back to the topic at hand.

Hahaha @ theatlantic I don’t want to attend the school not because I am hiding something from her but because I want a new experience. So, that when people ask us we won’t say we attended the same University. Also, it is great to go to another place so that we both get to travel to each others graduation in a different area on the map.

Well that makes much more sense! Now, my real burning question is in regards to why you and your sister are both in love with a school that isn’t accredited/are willing to spend so much to get a non-degree.

It’s always great to get the last word I think you can agree with me… To answer your other question I was considering Lee university in Tennessee it’s not as strict on dating or what you wear. But, there is still that sense in growing your faith in The Lord maybe someone can comment on that University ?

Again for the last time I am not in lie with BJU it’s the beliefs and in the growing faith that grabs my attention.

Well then, stop defending your beliefs- most of us are not questioning them, ignore those that do. It is now a moot point. The point IS where else could you go for this other experience. You have been given many suggestions on this thread. Go research them, present them to your mother and then come back, tell us what she says and ask more questions…

If you read the comment above I commented on another University…

Lee University seems like a legitimate school.
