I love that so many have sleeves!
Yes! Sleeves are hard to come by - even for winter weddings!
Need earthy suggestions for D2’s wedding in TX in November as MOB. I’m sure this wedding will be very pretty but casual. For D1 I wore a long casual jersey material dress bought locally at a shop with a sweater to cover the arms (Iceland summer).
This one will have a lot of guests in a rural setting with temps mostly in the 70s but could get warmer or cooler. Outdoor ceremony (no bridesmaids) and food (?food truck). I look best in a dressy top that goes the length of a mini skirt? with tight pants/leggins underneath preferably dark. I’m 5 ft tall, 4 petite. The shoes need to be casual, boots? I looked best in Gap, Banana Republic, Polo but not sure the first two even exist.
Sundance seems to have lots of things that work with boots.
@rockymtnhigh2 my first thought was Sundance or Anthropologie.
Kay Unger has some great dresses and the prices aren’t bad. The officiant at the last wedding I went wore a Kay Unger brocade looking dress.
As I mentioned upthread don’t discount Macy’s online. They have a surprisingly large selection in a wide price range.

Would something like this work or am I totally off base?
Agree with Anthro & Sundance or maybe Peruvian Connection:
Women’s Dresses | Peruvian Connection | Luxury Artisan Apparel - Peruvian Connection
Or Johnny Was
I think what you are looking for is a tunic. Sundance would be a good source.
This kind of a dress with pants?

Wow, thank you for all the suggestions. I will be studying these for quite a while. I think that the Anthropologie (did not know they had clothing) and Soft Surroundings (never heard of before) look like what might work.
Will be monitoring this thread a bit closer going forward. Kid looked at a few sites with MOx dresses and were not impressed. “Mom, you can do better than those sequined potato sacks!” Lol. The dress I wore to the big kid’s wedding is apparently coming back in style bigly this year, so I can technically just dust it off and be all set but I’m not sure the color will work in her chosen color scheme. I still have the shoes, too, but I’m definitely not rewearing… this wedding is on the grass so any heels have to be lawn-proof.

Whoa Suzievt those are cool! There’s a big difference, I can see, between a long shirt and a tunic that works as a mini-dress with leggings. So many beautiful options!
Wow @soozievt ! Never heard of some of these vendors or brands before but very cute options! Lots of variety!
@HImom I get a LOT of catalogues in the mail and so knew of these brands. Further, I’m an online shopper, and buy most things online. When the idea of a tunic came up, I searched the companies I felt would have such options.
I may have to explore the world of tunics more. I tend to never wear dresses when I travel as it’s too cold for me. Tunics might help me dress up my wardrobe a tad, when travel becomes a reality again for me. Covid has really ground our travel to a halt, since 2019.
Really like the pyramid collection! Never heard of that company, but I liked the blue Danube tunic and ordered it.
So I’m on a mission to find a new MOB outfit. I showed a few options to my husband. He vetoed them LOL. “Why are you looking at such depressing textile junk?” “Well, mothers need to wear something muted, like beige, so they would not outshine the bride in the wedding photos!” “That’s complete crap. You don’t need to wear neon pink, but you don’t need to hide inside a potato sack either! After all, you are sort of an age progression of the bride… people will look at you in these pictures and will think that the beautiful bride will look just as awful in a couple of decades!” Lol. He does have a point! MOB dress hunt is ON!
I never understood the line that MOB and MOG should wear beige. Wear something that makes you feel beautiful just not a white gown. Lol.
What is the venue? I’m sure you will at least have amazing shoes on your feet.
@BunsenBurner tell us a little more about the season, weather and venue for this wedding! I’m sure folks will have some fun suggestions.
