If you want a darker color, what about forest or hunter green which might pair nicely with the sage green?

You find the best dresses!
Yes, those are fun dresses, soozievt!
Looked high and low and could not find the slip style shaper. It appears only the bodysuit kind is being sold now (and some skirts and bike shorts) by Simone Perele. The style is called Top Model.

It has a snap closure at the bottom so going to the bathroom should be a piece of cake.
ETA: yay, someone still sells the slip! I have no experience with this particular company, so can’t recommend the merchant (just the slip - it gets two thumbs up from me):
soozievt thank you for all the dress links. I am having fun looking through them. Bunsen Burner thank you for the link to the shaper.
I tried on more dresses at another shop yesterday. I really wish they had someone who knew how to help MOB. A young bride walked in for her appointment and they all flocked to her and left me to look through the racks. They also did not have in-house alterations. I would have to purchase the dress and find a tailor. They just kept saying that looks great! to everything I tried on, which I knew was not true.
The prior shop did have in-house alterations and the seamstress was in the room with me to let me know what could be done to tailor the dress to look best on me. That is a huge benefit. I continue my search but most likely will go back to prior shop with the seamstress.
My daughter has agreed to Navy after seeing me in other colors. There was a blush color that did look pretty on me and a light purple dark lavender that looked nice also, but the store did not know the color even though it was their design, ugh.
@lia_b you will find the perfect something.
I really wanted a lavender dress…and I’m a petite size. Double hard because there are not nearly as many petite dresses. But I found one! And I loved it. I tried on the same dress in a sapphire blue (I’m sure I linked that Alex Evenings dress someplace).
I found that the bridal shops were not a great place for me to find a dress.
Thumper1, you might be right about this. I thought they would be more helpful.
If anyone has suggestions …I’m looking for a dress and would love some help.
If all goes as hoped, I’m getting my master’s degree in two weeks and while I could wear something from my closet, those Covid pounds aren’t helping my existing dresses look good.
I’m looking for knee-length/mid-calf and I like a bit of glitter and a full skirt, although that might look ridiculous under a gown? . Also a pretty modest budget, since this isn’t actually something I need – just something I want.
(And if I’m hijacking this thread, let me know and I can start a new one).
Thanks!
I would start a new thread Congratulations and good luck !
Well S is tentatively choosing 3/2023 to get married, so at some point will be searching for MOG dress. Don’t know how formal/informal they are planning as they just recently got engaged and last night chose wedding month and state—Hawaii!
Very exciting and how nice that it will be in your home state! Good for you and your H to not have to worry too much about traveling.
I think it was because S knew his grandma can’t travel and we are all taking turns caring for her. Will be interesting to see where they opt to hold the festivities.
@sevmom Is this the month of the wedding. Hope it goes well. Whatever you chose will be beautiful. Enjoy and congratulations.
Thanks @bhs1978 . Yes, next weekend. My dress is kind of boring but I like the color(light blue), length (couple inches below the knee). And I have pearls that can dress it up. Garden, country inn 5 pm wedding so it will have to do! Adrianna Papell. I’ll wear the floral Wayf dress Roxanne for the rehearsal dinner and welcome party. I’m getting excited (but nervous too), particularly about the mother/son dance. Hope your plans are all coming along nicely!
Congratulations, @HImom !
@sevmom It’s getting exciting! Glad you found your dresses. Which dress did you choose for the wedding…do you have a link?
I’m bad with links! But, I posted the dress on February 19th. Adrianna Papell crepe sheath 3/4 sleeve in blue mist color. Very simple dress but fairly classic. I have pearls from my sister that I will wear. Fancier dresses I ordered just did not work for me. It will have to do!
Thanks for all your suggestions, @soozievt !
This one?

Very pretty @sevmom
Beautiful choice.
Thanks! Yes, in blue mist. Blue is my favorite color and my mother wore blue at my wedding.
