Money, Money, Money

Others have posted that the Shipman letters go out in December. According to the UM website, there are 525 Regents and only 15 Shipmans that are given out.

ducktape, my son received a letter in the mail. Nothing in the website. No email.

could you get one if youd didnt apply to financial aid...does that come when you get your acceptance letter in the mail ?

Lauren, the Regents is merit-based, you do not have to apply for it. All accepted students are considered for it and other merit-based awards. My S got the award letter almost four weeks after he was accepted.

Oh, just got the Regents today in the mail. I got accepted 2+ weeks ago.

are there any mich scholarships you can apply for? if so, when, and can you post the links for them? thanks!

Got the Regeants Scholarship in the mail today. =)

Regents Scholarship doesn't defray the price that much for OOS and I don't think I'll be receiving much money. I need about $10,000 a year to consider going to UMich.

yeah, unfortunately I do too. I would LOVE to go to Michigan, but I have a pretty realistic shot of getting into either Berkeley or UCLA, which are 18k less per year, for the same education. So if anyone, esp. current students or parents, could help me with some scholarship opportunities, it would really make a difference. Thanks!

Does anyone the criteria for the Dean's Scholarship - it is not posted on the website.
So have most of the scholarships already been distributed? The large ones for $10,000?

idk, i was wondering that too. i doubt it, i hope not lol.

Nandi08, see my post #11 on this thread.
