Hi, I applied Ed today and was wondering if anyone else is from Montana?

Also, what did everyone do for their My Space and esssay? I sent in a box
titled "My Life in a Box" and my essay was about the life cycle of a (horse)
parasite.

I basically sent in some poems and drawings that I thought were pretty good. Nothing fancy schmancy, or uber creative, but hopefully it was enough.

Since I want to major in theatre, I sent my official “theatre” resume. I couldn’t find any way to mention how many shows I do I year, which directors I’ve worked under, or what size roles I’ve had in the CommonApp, so I thought that the best way to include that information.

For my essay, I wrote about being responsible for my family due to my mother’s cancer diagnosis, and how I had that revelation while grocery shopping alone for the first time.

I included in my Your Space: my theatre resume (too!), posters and advertising I made for the theatre and choir shows at school, and magazine posters I made for the (fictional) school magazine. I sent it all in a portfolio via mail.

For my essay, I chose prompt four and talked about the Doctor from Doctor Who and how he influenced me to love learning.

For my CommonApp essay, I talked about the carnival I built for a baseball league for children with disabilities (Girl Scout Silver Award Project).

I also did YourSpace, and took the book “The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs” by Jon Scieszka and basically used it as a testimony given by the Big Bad Wolf. I then analyzed the diction and other elements of the story as a lawyer would and proved him guilty. It’s a bit confusing to explain, but it came out really well. It shows my interest in pursuing a career in Law or something English-related.

I sent them a copy in a short story, scientific abstracts, and a Girl Scout Gold Award Project outline.I also sent them a homemade soy candle in Vassar colors (I make soy candles as a hobby) I got in ED1

For everyone who thinks the Your Space section is “highly recommended” and thus required, it’s not! I was accepted and I didn’t send anything for that section, nor did I sent over 500 characters in the supplement. They’re not necessary, so don’t stress too much =)

shadesofgrey, they said that they will not review visual art supplement submissions, so i made my “your space” supplement essentially what they’re missing in not reviewing my art stuff. we’ll see though, i’m applying tomorrow
