Can anyone tell us what the auditions at Montclair State are like? My daughter is scheduled there in a couple of weeks.
Thanks!

I have to say that Montclair was run pretty well. I went to the last audition date last year and there were a decent amount of people there. We had our acting and vocal auditions first in this little mini theater rehearsal space. People were basically hanging out and waiting to do that first, once a decent amount were finished with their acting/vocal auditions then they changed into dance clothes and went into the dance studio next door to do the dance audition.

Once the first group was finished dancing the second group that I was in was were just about finished with the acting/vocal audition. The first group changed back to normal clothes and once the last person was done with the acting/vocal, we all went into the dance studio with the other group and just laid on the floor and took the music theory test, then we danced, then we were permitted to leave. It only took about 4 hours and I was late because my friend and I got lost in Jersey, so I probably would have been done sooner. It was a really nice campus. I hope your daughter has fun and breaks a leg!

My daughter's audition at Montclair was the least stressful, and friendliest audition that she attended. It was fairly well organized, easy to find warm up space, (the bathroom?) and plenty of students, other parents to talk to!
I believe A2b's review is pretty close to how it went last year as well.
Nice cafe across the way where you can hang out, also.
