moooooving

I'm currently a sophomore and am facing this silly moving business. My parents kind of messed up on some timing issues, so instead of moving this summer, which would have been perfect, I am left with a choice of moving either in the middle (after the first semester) of next year, or the summer of next year. Which would be better? Because if I move in the middle of the year, I'm afraid I'll be behind in everything, but it will give me enough of a transitory period to adjust and make friends and the such so that in junior year, I could pwn. If I move in junior year, I'm afraid that while the other kids are all busy with their AP's and SAT's and perfect GPA's, I'll be spending that time trying to fit in, and my grades will suffer. However, it just seems more, eh, conventional moving to a new school just in time for the new school year.

ugh, sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance

do you go to an year-round school? you aren't on vacation?

^I don't understand.

I would move in the middle of the year. Yes, you'll be behind, but that gives you more time to get acquainted with the new school. You'll want to be familiar with the school by the time junior year comes around, so you can work on ECs, APs, and a perfect GPA. Just make sure you join clubs/organizations right when you get to the new school.

Move in the summer. It will be a fresh start, don't worry about fitting in--you will.

moooOOOOO!

wait till summa

mid year. i did the same thing (not same grade though). since u go during the middle, you tend to meet more people since you are coming during the middle of the year, and colleges will expect SLIGHTLY less from you because you moved (they are humans too). this way, you have some friends, and are familiar with the AP classes for junior year, your school, and area for the one and only junior year of high school. good luck!
