More CSS Profile and FAFSA questions

<p>CSS Profile. D isn't applying ED anywhere. She's got her teacher rec requests in and essays done, so I guess she can start applying anytime between now and each individual school's deadline? Is the recommendation the earlier the better if she's applying for financial aid? Or, does she have to wait for her teachers and guidance counselor to complete their recs (which can be as late as Dec 15, I think) before applying?</p>

<p>So we guesstimate for 2006 income and then update it when we receive the W2s at the end of January?</p>

<p>Another question: Several scholarships D is applying for that have deadlines within the next couple of weeks request that she submit the FAFSA. If the FAFSA cannot be started until 1/01/07, what are they asking for??</p>

<p>Do you ever feel like you've forgotten everything you've learned from researching the college game for the past several years, when its finally game time?</p>

<p>we applied for the PROFILE when it was due for the school- which I believe was in november
I do believe that the earlier you apply for FAFSA the better off you are & I think that filing it in January even though we had to amend it a couple times- gave her a better shot
I am not sure about the scholarships
D applied to scholarships but they asked for explanation of need- not a FAFSA
you could fill out what it looks like your EFC would be from a couple calculators but other than that- I would not know what they want either</p>
