Help! Did we miss the deadline for filing the CSS Profile?

I just posted this in the Financial Aid forum, but thought I would post it here, too -- I need help!

DS just submitted his Common App applications and supplements to 10 schools (down to the wire, as usual!). He's arranged for test scores, teacher recs, etc. to be sent in, so we thought the process was complete until filing the FAFSA, but now I realize we need to turn in the CSS Profile, too. It sounds like some people have already turned that in, but how do you do that before doing your taxes (or at least being close enough to the end of the year to be able to estimate)? Is it too late now to file the Profile? If so, we're in deep trouble, since acceptances at any of the colleges DS applied to would be meaningless without major financial aid... Can anyone give me hopeful news that there is still time to file the Profile? Thanks...

You need to check the different websites for EACH of those ten schools for their deadlines for the financial aid applications (FAFSA and Profile if needed). The deadlines vary by school. There is no way we can tell you whether or not you missed the deadlines as they are not the same. BUT I will tell you that many schools have January or February deadlines for both the FAFSA and Profile (if the school requires it) for incoming freshmen...so check NOW and don't miss the deadlines.

Then there's still hope... Thank you so much!

check the website. I know the earliest my D has is due Feb 15. We have a goal to have them all submitted by Feb 1

Re the tax info, for CSS profile (at least the two private colleges my kids went to) you estimated everything. Then when you actually file your return, you submit the return directly to the school.

However, I think some schools utilize a central service for sending in tax info after the deadlines. As some have mentioned, every school seems to have diffferent deadlines. And even if you've missed one by a day or two, I'd still call the Financial Aid office and see if you can still submit. Surprisingly, I've found that what appears very rigid in terms of deadlines isn't always quite so unforgiving...
