I received the Prominence Scholarship a couple of weeks ago and am very thankful for it and I hope that God-willing, many of you will hear good news concerning scholarships in general including this one. I was just wondering whether or not as soon as I become a state resident after 1 year, do I continue to get the money that comes from the Prominence Scholarship including the out of state surcharge to where I could use it for living expenses?

If any of you have any idea, please feel free to post about it!

I also got a letter saying that I did not get the scholarship. But I am wondering if their is a way I could ask the Office of Diversity to review my application again?

I got my letter, too I didn’t really expect the scholarship because my essay sucked, but my stats and everything are perfect for this. So, at the same time… I’m a little surprised. Congrats to everyone who did get it, anyways.

I haven’t heard anything. I contacted someone though and they said that everyone will know one way or another hopefully by April 15th. People who recieve Distinction will recieve a phone call as well.

I got the Excellence but I haven’t received a notification yet from the office of diversity and inclusion or whatever it’s called. I found out because I checked my financial aid status on buckeyelink and saw my financial aid award! So those of you who haven’t gotten an email or call yet, don’t lose hope and check your financial aid status on buckeyelink!

Our D received the scholarship; we learned that there is no housing assigned for this scholarship, however, there is housing for those accepted into the Honors or Scholars programs. Our D was also accepted into a scholars program and if she chooses to attend, she’ll live in Morrill Tower as required by the scholars program. She’s also accepted to other schools, including Tulane, however, the scholarship makes O-state very attractive, though of course, it’s huge vs. the smaller private university.

Don’t lose hope you guys! I just call a call that I got the Distinction!! I’ve never been this happy and that’s after I said I did bad on the interview!

That’s awesome! Congratulations! But they’re calling on a Saturday? Huh. I haven’t heard anything! Looks like a bad sign. Are you instate or out of state?

Hah I’m in state. It was weird since the caller id was from South Carolina so I don’t answer it until the 3rd call. Don’t lose hope, they picked 23 people for Distinction!
