"Grave of the Fireflies": Isn't that an anime? Really bloody? Older brother taking care of his younger sister? I don't really remember. I remember seeing a sad anime that had to do with war and "fireflies" in the title... lots of sickness and death.

The movie that made me cry the most was The Lion King.

Yeah, "Grave of the Fireflies" is anime. I don't remember it being especially bloody though...

There were a few scenes (the death ones pertaining to the war) that were pretty grotesque

Yeah but the bloodiness or war wasn't what made it sad...

"hotel rwanda" was pretty sad. thw whole movie i was just thinking, "omg that's horrible". it had somewhat of a happy ending.

"the notebook" wasn't really sad, it was more emotional but definetely not depressing. it's about finally being with your true love.

"gladiator" was sad too. i loved the ending. "but not yet, not yet"

"21 grams" i saw the first 20 minutes of it or so and it was kind of boring, but i'll try and watch the whole thing later.

"pay it forward" and "i am sam" just overdid the sadness. it wasn't believeable to me.

and "ai" was just pointless.

Spanglish and Imaginary Heros

Fluke made me feel so sad :( It was kind of panned by critics, but I always liked it.

Thirteen......

"Thirteen......"

At least the ending offered you a sliver of hope. Unlike Requiem for a Dream or 21 Grams, both of which had me leaving the theater in a severe funk. And my family had seen the latter on Thanksgiving day!

Oh, how could I forget The Notebook. But I think they kind of gave it away a bit too fast.

Fight Club seems to be just very dark and depressing in a wierd sort of way. I'll always watch it when I'm depressed, and it just lifts me up. I hate watching it when I'm depressed, cuz it's kinda long, but afterwards, I'll all better. Just really wierd.

"spanglish" is depressing? really, my friends said it was cute. haven't seen it though.

"y tu mama tambien" was depressing.

as for "fight club", i'll just say the only thing that was depressing about the movie was that i couldn't have brad pitt's body...jp...but seriously...

Titanic . . .

I walk to remember...I don't really like being depressed :(

the bycicle thief....old italian movie, so SAD ahhh tears.

green mile

Gorillas In the Midst

i agree completely with the green mile. that movie was just so depressing and sad. really brought alot of emotion out of me. another movie that i find depressing is fargo. its my favorite movie though.

I have to agree with "A walk to Remember"...
