Ok, she said that the idea was prevalent. She wasn’t making the claim that it WAS on the same level. There is a difference, actually quite a large difference.

Oh, and FWIW- I asked that question TWICE before haha ever posted.

^^^I believe you’ve confused me with other posters who made claims that I did not. End of discussion.

My masculinity has gone down 20 points, if I’m the one you’re referring to when you said " she said the idea was prevalent."
lol it’s cool though

^ sorry. It was wrong of me to assume. I apologize :(

^^ ok rj. Whatever you say. I didn’t confuse you but I’m glad that you’re open for discussion :).

Texas

Over:
TAMU- College Station IS

Under:
TAMU- Kingsville (Great engineering esp. natural gas and civil. Top in country for bilingual education grad school, business school and LA school is lacking but it is a top school for hispanics and hispanic related studies. Awesome for range and wildlife management. Good football team too.)

TAMU College Station OOS

UT and Rice are great schools. Tarleton sucks for personal reasons.

Illinois

Under-
Oh geez, so many. LFC, Knox, BRADLEY, Loyola University of Chicago.

Over-
You’re expecting me to say U of I, right? Nah, I have nothing against Chambana. Chicago. Also NIU is not unpopular instate, for reasons I don’t know.

Just right-
Northwestern

NEW YORK

underrated- Macaulay honors college, Vassar, Colgate
most kids in my school havent even heard of these -.-

overrated- Queens (regular), St Johns, NYU
everyone in my school wants to go to these schools for dumb reasons

Bayboi, it is hard to imagine any of these schools being better than Pomona

“Liberal Arts Focus
Private- Santa Clara, LMU, or Chapman”

Pomona is great and I’m sure it’s better than those programs. But, in my opinion people don’t go to California for LACs, it’s more of an east coast thing.

State: Virginia

Overrated- Va Tech, William and Mary and UVA
Under- Randolph College

New Jersey-

Overrated: Ramapo (for some reason many people act like this is an amazing public liberal arts college though from what friends say red tape will kill you), TCNJ (it’s a decent school for certain programs but has barely any reputation outside of the tri-state area)

Underrated: Stevens Institute of Technology (excellent for sciences; great co-op program; and Hoboken is a cool city) ; Rutgers - New Brunswick (both in and out of state)

I’ve noticed many people don’t talk about Occidental as well when dealing with underrated California colleges; it seems to be one of the top ones (at least 3rd from Pomona and CMC…)

then again; maybe I just like that school too much or people think it’s an accurately rated college.

New York

UNDER rated - Fordham ( suprisingly MOST of my friends havent heard of this school even though its a great school ) .

OVER rated - NYU , Stony Brook , Hunter , Pace .

OVERrated- University of Oklahoma

UNDERrated- Oklahoma State University

Florida:

Overrated: UF, UCF, FSU,UMiami
With exception of UMiami, All of these schools are not only in the middle of nowhere, but they are only famous due to their sports scene. I have visited all of the campuses and they are not great.

Underrated: Florida International University, Rollins College, USF
All great locations, all completely underrated…ESPECIALLY FIU! FIU, located in Miami, is not only a beautiful campus, but its education is phenomenal. Along with great education, its facilities are top notch and many of the classes are relatively small. Campus wise, their is a large pool, grill, AND a beach volleyball court located at every single dorm building…WHO wouldnt want THAT?!

^
I wouldn’t want to go to FIU. It is 70% hispanic with the academic quality and prestige of a community college. I would like attending a diverse school, but I don’t consider one ethnicity dominating the campus diverse.

I assure you, as a Floridian, FIU would probably be the last college I would attend , far behind UF, FSU, Miami, New College, USF, UCF, and possibly even UNF.

I would agree with you that Rollins is under-rated. Has a great campus and a fantastic undergraduate business program.

overrated: ucla, etc.
underrated: pomona, occidental, mudd, cmc…

OVERATED: NYU!!!

/thread

^ lol… what’s wrong with NYU. it may be a little (fine a lot) overrated by high schoolers, but its still a good school. I got in today but not going there.

^^^Even you admit it’s overrated. So what’s your point?

Overrated: Non HYP ivies.
