Overrated: Yale
Underrated: Wellesley

^^ U of Michigan underrated? ... did I miss something?

because that (Tisch) is the only really respected school at NYU.

This is a joke, right? Stern anyone? Mathematics...Philosophy...I can think of more.

^ agree
what a tard

Underrated: Temple, Indiana, Tulsa, Pitt, American, UWash, UT, Allegheny, Lafayette, Clemson, Babson, Centre, Hendrix, JMU, Muhlenberg, CofC, Conn. College, F&M, GATech, Providence, TCNJ, Truman State, UMN-TC, USF, VaTech, UDallas, BU :P

That should be enough.

You would put Temple first.

A typical Philadelphian who hates Temple simply because they arent a super-****ing-amazing school? Whoodathunkit?

underrated: wash. U, berkeley (for ugrad) and a bunch of others

over: hyp

Slipper...Are we talking NYU or Stern in specific? I'm pretty sure Stern's recruiting is surpassed only by the likes of Harvard Yale Princeton Stanford and Wharton. I would even say that Stern's recruiting, esp. for banking, is slightly better than non-HYP ivies. As far as consulting is concerned, Stern's strength is finance. Thus, the main emphasis in recruiting is placed in finance-related jobs. I'm sure a Stern student looking for a consulting job can get one if he puts more effort than a kid looking for a banking job.

Remember, I'm talking about Stern in specific, in terms of business-recruiting. Also I do not understand how NYU can be overrated. It seems like people think this is the same NYU from decades ago. Although NYU is not in the same league as the ivies, UCHICAGO, Stanford, MIT etc., NYU certainly belongs in the top-30 category.

overrated- BU, BC, Wake Forest, Cornell

underrated- Middlebury, Northwestern

"A typical Philadelphian who hates Temple simply because they arent a super-****ing-amazing school? Whoodathunkit?"

-That may be true, but I fail to see how Temple is at all underrated. Let it also be known that Temple was one of my safties. :)

It's mine too. How is Temple not underrated? Just look at the BS rep it gets.

WashU is considered overrated by CCers and I know why. WashU lacks prestige. It is academically up there, but does not have the name recognition of say Northwestern. WashU is not a house hold name. In about 20 years after the current WashU students make names for themselves, it will be considered prestigious, and not just strong academically.

Another underrated school is everyone's state school (except Cal, UVA, Mich, UNC, and UCLA). State schools get bad reps.

I would say Harvard and Cal are overrated for undergrad.

Underrated: most LACs
Overrated: BERKELEY
Atleast for undergrad it is.

Overrated: Schools I don't like/Can't get into/can't afford
Underrated: Schools I want to attend/now attend/ attended

Radix,
Stern's reputation is solid but it is not a core recruiting school at the top banks. Its reputation is growing but it doesn't have the cache of Columbia, Dartmouth, or any other ivy--you implied that Stern's recruiting is stronger than non-HYP ivies, which is absolutely not true. If you maintain a gpa of 3.7 plus, you should have a shot at a BB.

UC Berkeley Trolls>>>>>>>>>>NYU Trolls

Underrated-Davidson, Uchcicago, Holy Cross, W&M, Tufts. Overrated-WashU, Emory, Penn, Mt. Holyoke.

Underated- American University.
