overrated: Donald Trump
underrated: Salvation Army

^^^^^

This got me to thinking, I wonder if Donald Trump or Bill Gates or Warren Buffett found a little school like Trinity was in the 1924 and endowed it the way the Duke family did and changed the name to Trump or Gates or Buffett University in 50 years will it be thought of the way Duke is now?

Buffett -yes
Gates- yes
Trump- no way in h---! The campus would look like Atlantic City and the core curriculum would be focused Bankrupcty law/Pre-nups/Viagra research/ and hair weaving.

It would be an all girls schools focused on eastern European immigrants who want to be fashion models. The only diploma given would be the MRS degree.

You'd think Buffett would at least donate to a college of hotel and restaurant management.

"It would be an all girls schools focused on eastern European immigrants who want to be fashion models."

And the problem with this would be...??

John D. Rockefeller's donation of $80 million led to the founding the University of Chicago. (his only son, JDR jr., went to Brown)

Here's an interesting tidbit about the Rockefeller's massive fortune:

"Rockefeller's net worth over the last decades of his life would easily place him among the very wealthiest persons in history. As a percentage of the United States economy, no other American fortune—including Bill Gates or Sam Walton—would even come close." (Wiki)

Overrated: Your state school (if it's good)
Underrated: Out of state public universities (that are good)

At least in my experience... Here (in VA) when I talk about Umich, no one really thinks much of it except for its football. Then... when I go to Michigan and talk about UVA, no one really seems to know about it. Weird since they're both top public schools.

here in california, the only schools that exist in the knowledge of the general population is ucs, caltech, and stanford =D and....maybbbbeee harvard O.o
