how are WE biased? you’re the one that goes to taft, obviously you’re the biased one…

which schools is it better than in the top 10 then
name one

I completely agree. Peddie is an absolutely amazing institution that receives next to no recognition.

Mercersburg is the most underrated prep school in the U.S. Have you ever been there? It is amazing. It has one of the highest per student endowments in the country.

Just got back from a surprise visit to my daughter at Mercersburg. Her little brother had never seen the campus, but now desperately wants to go. Fortunately, we’ve got some time to start saving. The campus is ridiculously beautiful right now with everything in full spring bloom, but I suspect you could say the same about most schools. The only eyesore is the gym, because it is undergoing a major renovation/addition and half of it is torn down. But the plans are beautiful and all encompassing. It is a long overdue overhaul and one which will help attract even more students.

I personally think that there are alot of great Canadian Universities that are very underated such as Upper Canada College or Ridley College(aka Canadian Exeter). Although these schools mainly matriculate to school just and Canada mainley University of Western Ontario and Queens and such there are still a large number that go to schools in England and US schools, and alot go to Mcgill which is a great school. These schools have great resources, facilities, and teachers, although they do lack the endowment of the American Boarding schools

I can testify that Ridley is AMAZING

UCC is such an old boys network… there’s also some snobbery going on there (from what i’ve seen, feel free to contradict me), but if you’re looking to make connections in Canada, UCC is it.

I got accepted to both Ridley and Trinity College, i am not sure which one to go to yet though, i never got accepted into UCC becuase of FA. I am getting FA from both Trinity and Ridley but i think Ridley is giving me a bit more. Do you know anything about Ridley, I know alot about the school but i never did a campus visit and i dont know anyone who has attended?

i don’t have much firsthand experience with ridley, but i know a couple of people who go/went there :). it has a great rep around here! since i haven’t actually been on campus/attended the school, i can’t say TOO much about it, but apparently their campus is gorgeous, their teachers are amazing (most of them, anyways) but grade pretty hard, and the people i know that go there are ultra-sweet, so i’m sure there are nice kids at ridley.
anyyyyways, getting off-topic… if you want to know more / elaborate, PM me, or go on facebook and find a random ridley student / ridley group, and ask them questions. congrats!

Alright thanks for the info Dive. What school are you attending for September 2010?

Miss. Porter’s School is excellent - and falls into the relatively small group of very strong single-sex boarding schools.

zuzu,
you forgot the only downer about MBerg and that is it is in the middle of nowhere and takes forever from anywhere to get there.

Yup, it is a long trip, but there are some nice benefits: Hershey Park is less than an hour away, and almost, kind of, sort of, on my way home.

Zu,
Finally found out why D2 wanted to leave Burg and it was due to isolation from home and friends. If we left Friday after classes, did not get home until late Sat and then had to leave early Sun. (Flying not much better due to distance from airports there). However it was a beautiful place and she still has many friends there. Spent summer in China with one girl. I think the French teacher and Dance teacher were her favorites.
