Steve Colbert's character on The Colbert Report went to Dartmouth. I hven't seen SuperBad yet but I've heard the connection.

The 1978 comedy National Lampoon's Animal House was cowritten by Chris Miller '63, and is based loosely on a series of fictional stories he wrote about his fraternity days at Dartmouth. In a CNN interview, John Landis said the movie was "based on Chris Miller's real fraternity at Dartmouth," Alpha Delta Phi. Dartmouth's Winter Carnival tradition was the subject of the 1939 film Winter Carnival starring Ann Sheridan.

In addition, Dartmouth has served as the alma mater for a number of fictional characters, including Michael Corleone of The Godfather, Meredith Grey of Grey's Anatomy, and Howie Archibald of Gossip Girl. Two leading characters of the 2007 film Superbad were also slated to attend Dartmouth.

Yea, I think it's really funny that those two kids from Superbad were supposed to go to Dartmouth. One had a class in home ec and another in gym, while his math class was only covering basic algebra. The other was generally not too swift. I guess they must have been some of the few applicants from Nevada though and that could have helped them get in.

I'm not sure whether I remember it correctly, but in the TV show called Queer As Folk, the boy named Justin was accepted to Dartmouth and U Pitt, and he decided to go to U Pitt (he lives in Pittsburgh).

Also:

Dartmouth is mentioned in an episode of The Simpsons.

The Friends of Dartmouth Rowing Boathouse is in the opening scene of The Skulls (with a tarp covering the huge D on the dock).

Several pictures of Dartmouth are shown in A River Runs Through It (though, ironically, one of the pictures is of the Tower Room in Baker Library, which wasn't built at the time the movie was set).

Also, Trapper John McIntyre from MAS*H is another fictional Dartmouth alumnus.

I recently saw an episode of Cold Case set during the depression and the husband proudly stated that he went to Dartmouth-and oh yes-he killed his wife!

Yeah Justin got into Dartmouth but didn't go because he thought he would have to be a business major. We don't even have a business major! Stupid Justin.

It would have been SO cool if QAF came here to film.

In the simpson's episode were ned's thinking of dating, a c&w singer in church sings "he"s drinking like a dartmouth boy"

superbad, she's all that, gossip girls

i am in love with gossip girl. i like to pretend that they are actually real people and that nate and dan are actually going to dartmouth next year...sad.
