Moving out of Berkeley dorms after ONE semester?

<p>I am looking to move out of my dorm after my first fall semester and then move into an off-campus apartment.</p>

<p>There is a $150 cancellation fee, and I would also be responsible for the costs of the dorm until a replacement is found. </p>

<p>Has anyone here gone through this process? The biggest fear I have is them not being able to find me a replacement and I would still have to pay for the dorm.</p>

<p>You should let the housing office know you want to move out after a semester. The more time the office has, the easier it would be to find a replacement.</p>
