dont buy at all. goto http://www.openoffice.org/, high quality, free, and supports all the word formats.

but if you really need to buy word wait till you arrive on campus, i know ms has student pricing on their software though i cant tell you the exact price

Man, I'm really ****ed at Microsoft. Yesterday I had to format my laptop b/c of a virus that kept coming back, so I formatted the computer and all. Then I looked for the Windows XP disk among the CDs that came with my laptop. Guess what!!! There is no freaking windows XP cd. It turns out that Microsoft has prohibited all major computer manufacturers from including the windows cd (as far as I know, the xp price is included in the total price of the laptop, it's not like microsoft is giving out free copies)!! Well, apparently, I was supposed to use a built-in utility in my previous windows installation to create a "recovery" disk.

I will never ever pay for a microsoft program again. I'll get an apple macintosh next time.

So yeah, I suggest you use openoffice.org, or better yet let's screw microsoft and just download office from bit torrent.

You can purchase MS Office from Stanford for $89.

You can buy it there or order it so it comes to your house.

You can probably get MS Office for free from a lot of people at Stanford. Just make sure to make techie friends.

Wow, seriously? Everywhere I go, including the Stanford Bookstore's site, it is listed at $149 at the least. Now I wonder if I should keep on trying to find my family's MS Office 2000 CD's, which got lost somewhere, buy the new one at Fry's or on campus, or just use openoffice. Curse my procrastination!
