Back in May D paid $500 confirmation fee when she accepted the MSM admission. Is this fee a one-time charge in addition to the tuition or is this fee credited to her tuition payment? This item does not appear in the bill.

Also, D has filed the health insurance waiver before the set deadline and yet health insurance fee still appears in the bill. Should she subtract the fee from the balance? I don't want to pay more now then get the money back later and yet the late fee is outrageous.

Your best bet would be to go straight to the source by calling MSM rather than asking here. There may well be people on CC who can answer those questions based on prior experience, but MSM may also have changed the way they operate since then. When it comes to making payments and avoiding late fees, it is best to get a definitive answer.

Good advice already given. Call the Bursar’s office or Admissions and inquire- your health insurance paperwork may even be in the wrong hands at the moment and hasn’t made it over to be recorded on the financial side. Even if you would end up overpaying, you can have it taken off of the second semester bill!

D did call and e-mail. No reply yet. I just got back from an extended oversea trip yesterday morning. The tuition is due on Wednesday 7/27. That’s why I asked here.

There is always a problem with trying to reach schools during the summer. Call again on Monday, the main switchboard number, and ask the operator that answers to transfer you to someone whom she actually knows is in the building, and go from there. Good luck, I know it’s frustrating.

pointegirl, This confuses us about the MSM bills also, but we are getting the hang of it. The bill they send you is everything you potentially owe. You have to substract out all your credits and send them the balance. I have PM’d you with specific instructions. In case you need it, I also sent you the telephone number for the Bursar’s office, they are usually good about emailing you back, but at this time of year, it can take awhile, so if you haven’t heard back and do not understand the directions I sent you, you might want to call them. Good luck and hope your child has a great year!
