Is it harder for out of state students to be accepted into MSU?

DannonWater, MSU admissions says it's about the same.

Thanks Quincy.

Accepted...

24 ACT
Not so great overall GPA (3.3? 3.4?)
Out-Of-State

Have shown drastic improvement...and a great Recommendation and personal essay.

It's between MSU and one other school for me.

They had everything recieved from me on 11/17 and made a decision on 1/15...so right around 8 weeks. I'm really surprised they didn't put off my admission until recieving my 7th Semester grades. That's actually what I was expecting, so seeing the package in the mail was a really nice surprise for me.

Still waiting ... no accepted posts for Feb or March?

Accepted January.

I got deferred from UM. If I do get in, I'll go there, if not, I'm going to MSU for a year and then transferring.

^ I was in the same situation as you. I was deferred, waitlisted, and then rejected from U of M. One year ago this month I thought I was going to go to MSU and then transfer. But, I am about to complete my freshman year here at MSU and I realized that I love it here and people here are more social and friendlier. I do not want to transfer to U of M anymore.

Basically what I'm saying, is give MSU a fair shot and don't make hasty decisions. If you spend one year here and decide you don't like the atmosphere, then that's fine. But give MSU a chance.
