MSU pre-med programs?

Does anyone have any REAL information on MSU's pre-med programs? I've read on their site and it seems to be just useless information that I don't really want or need to know. Does anyone have a clue on more in depth information into this subject area... i.e. Med School acceptance rate... etc? Or does anyone have any personal information on their Pre-Med? Thanks!

i think that the best thing to do if you're premed is the lyman briggs school. i thought i heard that the med school acceptance rate was around 60%, but i'm really not sure.

Yes, the prototypical Lyman Briggs student has med school in mind. But their range of interests is actually much broader than that.

Isn't Lyman Briggs a residential community?

Yes. Admin & faculty offices, most classrooms, labs and dorm rooms in the building, as well as dining hall, fitness, music rooms, Sparty's convenience store, etc., etc...

Just to be clear, Lyman Briggs, the residential college for natural sciences at MSU is not the ideal program for sure pre-medical students. It is better for those going into research and maybe MSTP MD’s. Otherwise, stick with the normal courses. You learn just as much with less hassle. Briggs teaches you to be a scientist, Med School’s are interested in how well you do in the intro classes. Briggs has a tendency to make these courses harder. When it comes down to it, sure maybe the Brigg’s courses are more rigorous and you learn more but over a long period of time you will forget all that information you learnt in briggs and all that will be needed was the basics of each intro class.
