i applied as an out of state resident (im from NYC) and i sent in my application on like november 17th i think. ill have 57 credits after this semester, my gpa is a 3.4, and i haven’t heard anything at all. i also applied to the fashion institute of technology, but i won’t hear back from them until april lmao so i literally have no idea where im transferring to next year. do you think if i called the MSU admissions office they would be able to tell me more information on the status of my application?
When clicking on “application status,” I get a message saying this:
"Your application to Michigan State University has been received and will be reviewed once all materials have been received and processed.
You MUST update your academic record by submitting grades for any completed, currently enrolled, and anticipated courses. All previous grades and current courses from U.S.-based institutions MUST be submitted via your online student portal. Paper transcripts must be submitted to our office for any international institution in order to update your academic record. If the transcript is not in English, a translation must be provided.
We cannot render a final decision on your application until the above actions have been completed."
I entered my grades. Is this normal for someone who’s even done that?
@kmalin did you end up calling? and if you did what all did they say? I am considering calling but not if they just tell me its all under review you will hear soon
@rdtosparty I submitted mine about a week and a half ago so I’m not expecting a speedy response. I was just wondering if that’s what it was supposed to say. Thanks!
@kmalin tbh i feel like you might get a better response over the phone. Every time i email them they just say how long it’s supposed to take. Maybe it’s the same over the phone though
“Admission decisions are typically made eight to 12 weeks after all application materials are received.”
If you applied more than 12 weeks ago and you haven’t received any reply, it may be a good idea to call.
@bedo007 congrats!!
I’m still waiting and still nothing and same as a few others. Mine went under review Jan11. I’m an international transfer (from an American cc so I’m sure I’ll hear near the end
They said my acceptance will be made upon receiving my semester grades.
I have 8 credits & a 3.3 for Fall semester.
I am taking 20 credits and should have a 3.5 or above for this semester. that includes english and math requirement.
do you think they will accept me??
I applied the 15th to Michigan state and had my grades posted in by the 17th the earliest they could have been in. I still havn’t heard anything and I know one of my friends heard back last Thursday and she applied the same time. Our majors are different and mine is in the college of communication arts and sciences so i was wondering if anyone heard back yet? I also am transferring from community after two years with over 26 credits and a gpa of 3.8, is it bad i havnt heard back yet? Or? (Been about 15 weeks since i applied) and said my application was under review earlier in January
@ccmarie03 i don’t think it’s bad. I applied the 15th and did the grade thing the 17th too. I have 60 credits and 3.6 gpa and haven’t heard anything either
