CCM rejection today via checking D’s status on the website. Auditioned at L.A. Unifieds. This one’s gonna hurt. I think I’m going to let the mailman deliver this news. We’ve had enough of a roller coaster this week.

can you tell me what you think of point park? My d just got accepted.

thanks

Same as tracyvp’d- rejection from CCM today-via check my status- aud at la unified. Does hurt a lot- ccm was my top choice- especially after being put on hold , but it happens- and we all have to go through it!

Ditto for D from CCM. On hold after LA unified, and rejection on website today

S#1 got rejection from CCM today via online status after being on hold from LA Unifieds. Yep, mvic2312, that one stung.

D got rejection from CCM via online status today after being on hold since January.

Rejected from U of Arizona & back in December also from NYU for ED1

Received rejection email last night from Indiana. Auditioned on February 4th.

^Sorry everyone! Hope good news comes soon!

Rejections keep coming. It’s such a difficult time, and we’re on spring break! She’s sure she’s not going to go to college if it’s not for a a MT BFA. She’s got academic and BA options but it’s not what she wanted. Sigh

I’m so sorry, fourkidsmom. I really hope good news arrives soon. But if not I really hope she’ll change her mind. Especially for a really smart kid like your D, the thing to remember is that it really is all about the education. Yes, training is wonderful and it’s necessary for those who hope to pursue this as a career. But you can get AMAZING training outside the university setting, often “down the street” if you live in any medium to large metro area. It’s pretty hard to get a great education down the street, though. For that you need a great university.

My son is the same way, he has other options but there is only one thing he wants to do. We are waiting for some good news. No rejections, just no word at all from the audition programs.

I know they must be so disappointed right now, but something good may still come along. Even if it doesn’t work out quite how they planned, I hope they realize that there are so many more avenues to success than just a MT BFA. There are wonderful BA programs around and the graduates come out just as fully prepared as those from a BFA program; some would argue even more well-rounded. There are also so many opportunities to participate for those who are in majors not even related to theater. A girl my D has worked with who is from a near-by town graduated from USC in an engineering major, and is now on Broadway. She participated in vocal and theater groups though-out college, and has had great success in professional theater. Tell your kids not to give up hope and just keep moving forward and doing what they love, in whatever capacity they can! My fingers are crossed for all of you!

Rejection on line ccm

Rejected from Baldwin-Wallace today. Auditioned February 4 on campus. It came in a slightly “thick” regular sized envelope because they enclose a list of other majors you might want to consider. Not as awful as Penn State’s huge packet, but enough to get your hopes up just a little bit!

No from Ithaca by mail

I’ve been rejected from Roosevelt, UArts, Point Park, and UMiami. However - I was accepted to the BA at UMiami, the BA at Columbia College Chicago (you can audition for their BFA after so many credits), and the BA at Loyola University Chicago. All with great scholarships, and I’m still waiting to hear from 2 colleges. Don’t give up guys! Not all of us will get big name BFA acceptances. That doesn’t mean you won’t end up at the right college for YOU! =)

Just wanted to tell everyone to keep you chin up. I still don’t know where I’m going, but I had my last audition which was at the Southeastern Theatre Conference. I received 29 callbacks including AMDA and CAP21. I didn’t expect much after previous rejections, so it was a good surprise.

fourkidsmom,

I believe a few schools are still accepting auditions, like Ohio Northern University (via acceptd website) and maybe OCU

Have three left to hear from and as has been said, you can only go to one. She has great BA options and I don’t think more auditions are in our cards this spring
