My D received rejections from CCU, FSU, IU, CCM, and Penn State so far…but also has four acceptances. Kids just need to remember that it is hardly ever personal in the MT field; it’s about what they need to balance their class out on that audition day. Understand too that schools are casting their shows for the next four years and they require artistic variety, but also a group that they feel will work well together.

Continued good luck to those of you still waiting to hear your first good news.

Now that is the most well-balanced post I’ve read in a long time, great perspective! It’s about ‘what they need’ at such and such a time, very often.
Good luck to you all!

Just got a rejection from Circle in the Square. A little disappointing, since I thought I did really well at my audition, and I really loved the school and location. But also an AMDA acceptance and a tentative Hartt acceptance to cheer me up :)

Gets me how some rejections are nice (Ithaca) and some are snotty (SUNY Fredonia and Purchase). Also, it just rubs salt in the wound to keep getting stuff from admissions, housing, and financial aid after being rejected from performing arts at the schools where you get admitted academically first before auditions.

D just got her rejection e-mail from Mason Gross. She didn’t get any callbacks so it was no surprise. She already made her college decision and she’s happy. She said the e-mail was very nice though.

And just got a much expected Emerson rejection… Not taking it hard though because I had tonsil stones during my audition…
Just for reference/for people waiting, I auditioned on 2/18. Good luck to everyone! :)

Rejected from CCM, Baldwin Wallace, and probably Elon (ive been told calls have been made already to all the acceptances)
Still waiting to hear from BoCo (top choice) and Carnegie Mellon. My only acceptance so far is to BoCo’s VP program (which im definitely considering but my heart is in MT)
Best of Luck to everyone!!
