Huh, on my pathway and in my mailing, it says that my expenses are only covered for the Multicultural Celebration Weekend, but not for Spring Preview outside of that weekend.

I got an email that said “If you can’t come to St. Louis that weekend, we encourage you to visit at our expense with at least two weeks notice, any time before April 26. Please call one of our Campus Visit Coordinators at (800) 638-0700 or (314) 935-6000 to schedule your customized campus visit.”

“that weekend” referring to multicultural weekend…
and i thought spring preview was like the whole month of april according to the visit calendar?
unless spring preview/multicultural weekend is not what we’re talking about? in that case i’m sorry =[

yeah…i heard about people getting that email, but i never got one, even though I’ve already signed up for Multicultural Weekend and received my itinerary.

but what about ED students who weren’t invited to the Multicultural Celebration Weekend?

I think Wash U has two goals.
Multicultural - to promote the accepted applicants from different cultures - paying for ED and RD minorities.

Spring Preview - to get all accepted students excited about Wash U - paying for RD because they haven’t committed; not paying for ED because they have contractually committed.

I’m pretty sure if you just ask, they’ll pay for you…they’re a school that makes people happy?

And I’m pretty sure that you can get out of ED due to financial reasons.

what onecot59 said is what i thought was going on. either way, i’m going to the Multicultural Celebration Weekend, but there are a few people in the class of 2016 facebook group who are concerned about not getting to visit because of being too white or whatever.

Yeah… Ima be going to. but i hate how when i have to leave, my flight is 8am…
Meh… the cost of free stuff…

mine too. getting up at 3:30am to drive two hours to the airport is super fun.

well…first world problems.

plan to go to multicultural celebration weekend. How to get to the school from the airport?
Will school arrange bus at the airport to pick the students?

Yes, we are met at the airport by representatives from the school

Why are some of you saying that ED admitted students’ costs aren’t covered? I’m an ED student and I’m pretty sure my cost is covered -> that’s what my mailing said, and that’s what I read online in my pathway as well. Did you see it somewhere, if so where?

They meant the spring visit is not free for EDer. Seeya at MCW

Yeah, the spring preview is not free for ED students who were not invited to the Multicultural Celebration Weekend

Multicultural Celebration Weekend will lift the pain from Ivy Day for me
