First of all, does anyone know if there is still time to RSVP to WashU's Celebration Weekend? I know the deadline to RSVP is Wednesday, but I'm not sure if they still have spots.

I'm not sure whether to go because I am not seriously considering WashU (Financial Aid reasons). I just want to have some fun or crash a campus party, but I don't want to make up my missed schoolwork or miss tennis.

First, they definitely should have spots open; If I’m correct, I don’t believe it’s a first-come, first-serve registration. As long as you register before the deadline you should get a spot. Secondly, don’t make your financial situation hinder you from choosing WashU. They are pretty generous when it comes to financial aid, and if you don’t get enough, definitely talk with financial aid office as WashU because they can be flexible on an individual basis. I have a lot of friends who weren’t really considering WashU, but after their experience at Multicultural Weekend, WashU jolted to their top school. Trust me, I had an amazing time when I went to multicultural weekend two years ago, so you definitely don’t want to miss it.

bailey654, what exactly happens over multicultural weekend? Did you follow your host around or do stuff on your own? Did you get to check out the social scene and local areas or was it more like “official” events they planned for admitted students? Just wanted to know what to expect, thanks!

It’s mostly your choice if you want to hang out with your host or not; remember they still will be busy with classes, meetings, etc. Now I definitely encourage to go check out a class, either with your host, or just by yourself. Also, the schedule really doesn’t have many mandatory events; if I remember correctly, the true mandatory events are the dinners on that thurs. and fri. You will have ample time to explore the social scene of WashU, especially on friday night. I don’t know if you will have a lot of time to actual explore st. louis though. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Thank you! So excited!!
