Multiple Ethnicities

Hi all,

Quick question for you. I’m not entirely sure what to say for the race question on the app. I look white, and I am white. But my grandmother was also from puerto rico and my other grandmother was Native American. That being said, I am not really affiliated with either culture. We don’t have specific traditions or anything that relates to puerto rico or our Native American heritage. At the same time, we don’t have any traditions related to my scottish heritage (which is the other half of me) either. Mostly, we’re just american.

But on the app, should I put down white, hispanic, and native american? I don’t want to be asked in an interview about this and make it look like I’m making things up for an edge. Plus, I look pretty white.

You can check as many (or as few) boxes as you please. Don’t worry about that. If there are any specific scholarships for Native American students, you will most likely be required to prove tribal enrollment in order to qualify.

Do remember that hispanic people come in every possible skin tone. Lots of them (including all of my Cuban/Venezuelan in-laws) are as pale as your average Scot.
