I have a couple questions about business and college. First off I live in the suburbs of Chicago and want to go to school in the city for business. My best choice is Depaul. I'm in my second year of community college.

1) I currently have a 4.0 from community college so I feel like I shouldn't have a problem getting into Depaul since all they will look at is my community college grades. Is this true? I plan on applying very soon.

2) When is the deadline for transfer students applying for the next fall semester and will I be better off applying asap.

3) Finally, I am going to apply for their college of commerce but I'm not sure what exactly I should apply for. Business administration is an option but I feel like everyone does that cause its so general, finance is another option that I am interested in but I'm not sure if I should do that just because I'm not exactly sure what I want to do now. Any suggestions?

Thank you

If you have at least one full year of college credit, they will only review your college transcript when they consider you for transfer admission. For the College of Commerce, you should be a strong candidate for admission.

The deadline for next fall quarter isn’t until August 2012. If you are interested in transferring in during the Winter Quarter which begins in January, the application deadline is Nov 1. You can contact Transfer Admission at 312-362-8300 or transferadmission@depaul.edu.

I would suggest speaking with a Transfer Admission counselor first and seeing which credits will articulate and which major you would have the most credits for already. I know that Commerce can sometimes be tricky with their transfer credits so I want to make sure you get the correct information from someone who has been able to review your transcript.

If you have any other questions, feel free to email me directly at jmyers17@depaul.edu and I can connect you with a Transfer Admission counselor.
