Hey I booked a room at Sneed but a senior is saying that Sneed pretty much sucks. He was a freshman at 2012 though. He lived his first year at Sneed and then transferred into Murdough. He is telling me to go to Murdough instead of Sneed. All the science buildings are closer to Murdough and that its a better dorm even for me wanting to major in engineering. Any idea whether Murdough will be a good choice for me?
I believe Sneed is the oldest dorm on campus (built in the 1930’s), so that’s one consideration. It does have the STEM learning community and it’s closer to the shops & restaurants on University Av. (more convenient, if you don’t a car). Murdough has the advantage being newer and has good dining options (food court with a lot of choices). The Engineering buildings are relatively close to either one.
Thanks @ChurchillDad for the comment. I talked about the learning communities with a senior there at Tech and he told me that I wont be needing the tutoring of the learning communities that much since I completed my A-Levels. For dining I guess the food mart is good enough; it gives 50% off i guess? I am just a bit concerned about the exposure to different opportunities that I might get in these two halls. Do you know anyone who lives in Sneed? If so can you give some reviews anout it? What are the academic benefits I can get at Sneed compard to Murdough?
