Music as EC?

Freshman year, I decided to continue (from middle school) with band, which entailed joining the marching and symphonic bands at my school. It was a pretty large time commitment (practice everyday before school for 1.5 hours, plus competitions, etc.) and when marching band ended, I got to play in the highest level symphonic band at my school. I also ended up earning a few awards with an ensemble group.

However, afterwards, I decided that band wasn't really for me and that I could be doing more meaningful things with my time, so I quit after that and haven't really returned to music since.

*****Should I put it down on the commonapp as an EC or would it just display a lack of commitment?

Also, instead, I got involved with art, but haven't won any awards or anything and was wondering if those would also count as an EC (I did this through junior year, so it shows a little more dedication).

As always, thanks for responses.

Bamp please.

I would like to know too.
I quit band after a couple of years..same situation as you because I thought band was wayyy too time-consuming for something I didn't like THAT much.
