Music @ JHU without getting into Peabody?

I'm a prospective freshman applicant, and I looooove music and don't think I'd be able to live without it. I'm not going to major in music, but I still really want to be involved in it as much as possible. I play piano and oboe.

Would it be possible for me to hang with the music kids / possibly beg for lessons from Leon Fleisher?

Thanks for any feedback!

Performance classes at the Conservatory level at Peabody are possible but you have to qualify by audition. I would guess that Leon Fleisher has pretty high standards but anything is possible. You do not have to audition for classes at the Preparatory level–which can include beginner lessons. Also, non performance courses at the Conservatory (such as music theory, history, etc) are open to Homewood students.

Lotsa stuff @ JHU including Hopkins Symphony Orchestra, and a music minor

Music minor: [Humanities at Hopkins](http://apply.jhu.edu/humanities/)
